[NOTE: It was pointed out to me that there's a missing blank row between rows 3 and 4, counting up from the bottom, that would shift the pattern threads into their naturally up positions. It doesn't change the technique as I show it, or how to read the chart, but it would make the pickup and dropping of pattern threads easier, since the up thread would be more likely to be up.]

Thank you very much. I am confused by the difference between which ones you pick up and the chart, probably because I'm used to knitting charts. I will mark the pick up threads with a circle and by going through the video and hopefully will understand after a couple of repeats. Thanks again.
This is a slightly easier way than I was taught, I had to swap background and pattern threads over instead of dropping or bringing up

Heather Torgenrud's Norwegian Pickup Bandweaving and plan to apply her patterns using your pickup techniques on an inkle loom. I think I have a good starting place now, thank you thank you!

For those of us that are kind of new to the inkle loom, yes, you change the sheds rather fast; I figure you have some kind of shortcut to changing the sheds.

When you put the yarn and your inkle. Loom in your directions does it tell you how many to put on your ankle how many numbers like one ready. To dredge I'm just learning saw this is what I me asking

Trying to learn my first pick-up. So the first/last 2 threads are not on the chart?
If I understanding what you're asking, correct. The threads making up the sides of the band are "border" threads and not included in the chart. The chart is only mapping the threads used to create the pickup pattern. All other threads (referred to as background threads in the video) are ignored.

Yo no dudaría que los vikingos hayan navegado hasta américa en ningún caso ya que eran navegantes increibles y de hecho hubo tantas inmigraciones a america por todos lados que los vikingos no tendrían porque quedarse atrás, sin embargo el ñimikan es un simbolo básico en telar mapuche y la urdiembre suplementaria la desarrollaron muchisimos pueblos en el mundo por ende, si miramos a los arabes tambien vamos a ver que aparece el ñimikan, y creo que los egipcios también lo hacían, balcanes (griegos y persas) y muchos más, lo que si me sorprende es el uso de telar de cintura tanto en indonesia, butan, vietnam como en todo américa. Esa es una prueba increíble de la antiguedad del telar de cintura. Porque los historiadores aseguran basándose en vestigios que el telar de cintura posee a lo más 5000 años comprobables, sin embargo si es que llega a comprobar que cruzaron bering con él entonces estamos hablando de que el telar de cintura es uno de los más antiguos del mundo con unos 15000 o hasta 30000 años de antiguedad. Y eso sería increible, porque consolidaría a los asiaticos y a los americanos como los tejedores más antiguos de la historia.

What are you making anyways
Good teaching but you are pulling yourweft thread too tightly and it is distorting the pattern. Using yarn for this is easy to see however carpet warp or even crochet thread is better fir an actual band if you’re planning to use it for a project.

No. Tablet weaving uses tablets or cards that have multiple holes in them that are threaded by the warp. The tablets are turned in sequence to create the patterns, twisting the warp threads around the weft as you go. Inkle weaving is a more “plain” type of weave, with a straight-forward up and down weaving technique.
