    Hi Stewart. Thanks for an excellent review. I'd not come across you channel before until I was searching for a review of the MF12's. I like what I see on your channel so will subscribe. Two things.. 1) your comment about the modelling lights and having to manually turn them on. If the MF12's are anything like my other Godox lights, you should be able to turn on the modelling lights via the remote head unit instead of having to manually trigger all of the buttons on the flash heads themselves. It's still a manual button push but it is just one button push instead of multiple ones. 2). I would be really interested in the modification videos you mentioned in your review. Look forward to seeing more content with the MF12's. Thanks

    I have been shooting 1:1 macro for a while, but only in natural light. I have recently purchased a Laowa 90mm 2:1 & now i think it's time to get in to flash. I am looking at buying an MF12 twin setup, but am unsure which trigger to get.
    Im pretty certain you can use either of the X2T-S or the XPro. (sony shooter) I like the idea of the extra hot shoe on the X2T. Can you tell me. Is it the trigger that allows you to use high speed sync? I assume this setup will have HSS?
    What reason did you pick the XPro?
    Thanks for the channel, it's extremely informative.

    I have Godox TX2 which I use with my AD600Pro, if I am not wrong, it has an option in menu somewhere to turn on the modeling bulb/lights, though I don't use the option. I prefer to control the lamps manually.

  • @domscape970
    @domscape970 Před 2 lety +4

    I went with the X2t godox trigger, not sure if the xPro has the option, the modeling lights can be turned on and off with a tap on the controller even if you set the two heads to separate channels. The X2t is slightly cheaper, but you lose the huge screen, though you still have the hot shoe on top and blue tooth to your phone. Wife and I have been using godox v860ii speed lights for a while now. The mf12 has been a great addition. Only thing that bugs me is the adapter ring holds onto the filter of the laowa 100 stronger than the lens does.
    We look forward to seeing more videos. Love your channel. Hope you are feeling better.

    I am thinking of The Godox mf 12 to replace my Yongnou 24ex . I have had two of these and both seem to have developed a tryistor failure and would only shoot at full power. One returned one out of warranty. Have you had the problem with the Yongnou and would you recommend the G mf12 over the Y EX24. Big thank you for keeping me motivated.

  • @erik3205
    @erik3205 Před 2 lety

    I would buy these, if there is a possible solution to get more diffusion on them. Looking at where the ring connects, it doesn't look like there is much space to add any thing on them to make it a larger light source. I could be wrong though, I'm sure Stewart will find a way!!!

    It's another knockoff of the Nikon R1C1 system and that front ring is so big it really gets in the way. Best to attach the flashes to small arms and that gives space for a diffusing layer and softer light. Otherwise light is way too harsh and specular reflections very bright. I stopped using my R1C1 flashes long ago due to those issues. And not being able to swap batteries in the field is a big no-no for anyone who goes on multi-hours shoots. I like Godox in general and use their flashes and X1T (very reliable) but a single cheap flash and concave diffuser might just do the job
