      according to the CompTIA study Guide Cat 5 has a max transfer rate of 100 Mps and 100 meters max distance and 100BASE-TX. Topic 4C page 135, the official CompTIA A+ Core 1 & Core 2 Study Guide.

    Do you actually need to know the frequency of cat cables?

      I would put more of an emphasis on the ethernet standard and lengths, I would be surprised if you got a question dialing in on frequencies, but if you did it surely wouldn't be more than one
