    That's a neat and tidy installation of the wires.

    I set my 1200R up 3 years ago and it's well worth the initial effort, now I just watch it do the work !!
    I did it pretty much the same as you, carrying the loop down the gravelled side of the house to the front and then separating again.
    My chap is still going strong at 1200hrs, would recommend these to everybody.
    I will say that where the lawn meets a flush flag, put the boundary wire much closer to the lawn edge, the mower will cut right over the edge in these places, less to tidy with a strimmer.
    But yes, great video.

      @darrenchan6248  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, you’re right, it cuts much closer to the edges in my front garden.
      However, in my back garden, the machine keeps hitting the fence boundary and leaves about a 20 cm edge uncut. I have to use a trimmer to tidy up the edges. It’s a bit annoying, but it still saves me a lot of time, so I have no complaints.
      I’ve heard that the new model has the ability to cut the grass right to the edges. Maybe I’ll update mine once it wears out.

    • @phutumsch
      @phutumsch Před 3 měsíci

      @@darrenchan6248 Using the trimmer once every few weeks is no bother at all, I'm just the same, it bumps in places, I've to turn the trimmer anyway to trim the edges. I've no intention to upgrade because I'm pretty sure the trimmer will be needed somewhere anyway.
      I'm sometimes mowing at 10pm or in the dark, the little chap cannot be heard.
      Wouldn't be without mine, in fact I have 2 more brand new in boxes !!!

    My flymo robot mower stopped working straight after the end of the guarantee. Did the straightforward things, battery change and voltage check with multimeter. Website and helpline give a long list of agents but none that I have called (I have called lots) do repairs. So bear in mind you might be replacing it after 3 years. Guess it depends if you think that is good value or not....

    These are identical to the German Gardena robots, also made by Husqvarna. Maybe Flymo has a more solid brand name in the UK.

    • @BarmyTwubble
      @BarmyTwubble Před rokem

      Of course it does, kind of like you guys all seem to think Bosch is the best brand ever for power tools when in the UK it's laughed at and is more a novice or hobby type brand. Oddly enough though DeWalt isn't . Flymo make awesome mowers, things are very different in the UK than Germany, done differently and of course different brands are more popular to suit styles. I mean in Germany even a huge DIY store did not know what I meant when I asked for underlay as I was laying a carpet and asked me why it was used for carpets, I received a fridge freezer from Poco that was broken and so had a replacement, upon arrival the guy told me if the new one is broke, I'd just have to pick the best from the two as they won't send another. Instead of skirting boards, you stick carpet to plastic and stick that to the wall or half floor tiles and that's the skirting board. You take out the entire kitchen when moving property and leave it as a bare room and when moving into a new place you have to buy an entire new kitchen from cupboards to tiles, everything or Pay the person who lived there before to keep their kitchen. My point is most things are entirely different and so Flymo although big here in Germany is not suited to the German way of things, big mowers with grass bags for lawns about 10 foot by 10 etc, other brands are just better suited to German life and ways and thus more "established" lol. It's not all crazy here though, I like the bottle machines to take all my cans etc to and get funds back lol

      @KidMillions Před rokem

      @@BarmyTwubble Wall-to-wall carpets are not used anymore in Europe. It's mostly laminate. Because carpets are never completely clean. Flymo is just a brand of Husqvarna, they're rebadged for the UK like Opels are rebadged as Vauxhalls. And last year I've ordered 3 water heaters from the German Amazon, all had transport damage, but they refunded them all, no discussion. That's the only place I would order things that are easily dented like a freezer.

      I suspected the Flymo range was made by Husqvarna, but couldn't find any evidence. I have been waiting for the Husky Aspire R4 to come back in stock in UK, but I guess there is no need to wait now if they are essentially a Flymo Easilife.

    • @KidMillions
      @KidMillions Před rokem

      @@7oddy they're part of the same group but Husqvarna is still the premium brand, their budget brands in DIY stores won't have the same quality. I have two Gardena robots and they had to be sent back for repairs under warranty three times.

    • @7oddy
      @7oddy Před rokem +1

      Good point made regarding Husqvarna making a premium quality unit with their flagship brand name attached to it, I’ll keep that in mind when making a decision, thank you.
      I’ll continue researching and wait to see when Husqvarna have stock in the UK again.
      On numerous occasions I’ve contacted Husqvarna themselves along with a few UK dealers, but nobody can provide information on stock dates.

      Hi Dan
      I am glad I bought this machine, it’s been a year now. The machine still need some improvement, but I can mow my garden any time I like, it doesn’t matter sunny or rainy day. My lawn is much better and greener now, it’s the best in my neighbourhood. In a long run, it will be cheaper than hiring a gardener

      @darrenchan6248  Před rokem

      Hi Andrew
      Yes, I just installed a continuous big circle wire, no connector, started from the charging base, then back to the base. I have to move the mower to the front garden manually, as my alleyway is slab pavement, and I have to use my rubbish bin to stop it going back to my back garden

      Hi have a similar situation. Did you just run the boundary to and from your front area without the guide wire?

    How long do you reckon it takes it to cut the lawn out the front of your house too?

    • @darrenchan6248

      I normally leave it for 2-3 hours until the battery is dead, just about the right time for my front garden.
      The original cable is only 3 meters, I bought another 10 meters cable
