    Motivational Conscious Music
    By Paul Madzore (in Zimbabwe)
    Hello Zimbabwe.
I am Paul Madzore ,a Zimbabwean rights activist and a music artist with the MDC Alliance led by Adv Nelson Chamisa.
Zimbabwe has been on a rough road since the 1890s when the settler colonial minorities suffocated not just our country, but Africa in general.
Our basic rights to decent life and liberty were taken away by the settler minority.
As time went by, the oppression of the black majority became institutionalised and at some point breaking point was reached such that Zimbabweans converged and waged different struggles against the settler minority rule.
In the 1970s it became so apparent that the majority Zimbabweans were glued together for a common cause, not just to remove white minority dictatorship, but to bring about change and instal a leadership that would respect the dignity of all Zimbabweans irrespective of colour.
It was during the 2nd Chimurenga especially when songs of liberation were composed and comrades in the liberation war would sing during their drills and the Zimbabwean masses would also sing along as these liberation fighters gathered people (povho/mass) for pungwes( night vigils or rallies).
I was a little boy around 8 years.
I saw and witnessed the power of music.
It brought memories, it was emotional , it united the people and it marketed the struggle agenda. That of a free Zimbabwe. That of a country which would do away with atrocities, abductions , muzzle of opposing voices and a new Zimbabwe that would respect the rule of law.
Zimbabweans united with all they had at their disposal to support the liberation struggle.
Families lost their all in support of this struggle against especially the Ian Smith regime.
Everyone wanted a new Zimbabwe full of love and harmony.
Zimbabwe attained its independence on April 18 in 1980.
In this new Zimbabwe, people have witnessed atrocities, abductions, torture, loss of homes and livestock, theft of public funds by those in power (Corruption), nepotism, hate etc.
Zimbabwe has seen migration of its citizens in large numbers to other countries because of poor and oppressive leadership.
Our economy is down yet we used to be the bread basket of Southern Africa.
Its estimated that over 6 million Zimbabweans now live in the diaspora.
It is with this background that I got inspired to carry on with the music that inspires the people to remain hopeful that one day a new Zimbabwe full of love and tolerance shall be born.
I have so far produced thirteen (13) albums, each with an average of 5 songs.
Currently we are working on our fourteenth album titled....MANYARARIREIKO?
Let's all unite and fight dictatorship.
    Be inspired. Enjoy the music.
Thank you all for the support.
