The global reusable water bottle market is booming. One study estimated that it will be valued at $11.5B by 2030, and other researchers have predicted similar growth as well. But that doesn’t mean people are ditching single-use plastic - in fact, despite the popularity of reusable water bottles made from materials like stainless steel, global plastic use (and especially plastic used to make disposable water bottles) is expected to rise by 4% by 2030. So if people still buy plastic bottles, why are we so obsessed with reusable ones?

Just buying more products and people still buy disposable to fill them up when no such thing as safe refill stations exist.

People also buy reusable bottles because they keep the beverage cold longer... and hence it makes sense that they don't care about cutting down their plastic bottle usage.

I was going to make a joke it's because we're just pouring the bottled water into our reusable ones, and then you said that's part of the actual reason, and now that's not funny and pretty pathetic, and sad.

We need higher taxes on disposables. Plastic is simply too cheap.
