Bro do you even special relativity? The definition of "how far is 5 mil MILES (kilometres)" depends on the speed of your velocity. As your ship approaches the speed of light, space surrounding it will contract and 5 mil miles can be considered quite a bit of space since it took a near instantenous amount of time to travel. But yes, on a galactic velocity scale, 5 mil miles ain't shit, even on a planetary velocity scale it's not much because we don't experience too many obvious effects of special relativity
