Screw and Wedges Together // EXAMPLE PROBLEM // Friction Forces on Screws and Wedges // Step by Step

In this video I go through an example problem involving both screws and wedges. To solve this we draw free body diagrams of all of the components and then solve for the unknowns using equilibrium equations. Next we use what we know about the forces on the screw to solve for the moment needed to achieve the desired compression of the material.

i Still get confused when to add/subtract phi and theta, could you explain it ? i know we add them when the force and moment oppose each other and vice versa.
