- Removing and installing a new fan might seem like a daunting task if you have never done one before. But this actually a very easy project that does not require any special tools. In this video, I will explain in detail and breakdown, step by step, the removal of an old fan, adding an electrical box, and installing a new fan. The only thing I didn’t do was use the mounting screws provided. I chose to swap out the phillips head screws because I found them difficult to install since you can’t drill a hole deep enough with the required drill bit size to allow the screw to go in easily and not strip the head. I swapped them out for some star head screws so I could screw them in all the way and not worry about destroying the heads.

its sad people take down good old products and put cheap built fans that wont last a year, but props on you for donating the old one instead of throwing it out
The Regalia II isn't that bad. There are way worse options available everywhere, like Mainstays, Hampton Bay, Harbor breeze, etc. Hunter today isn't as good in certain ways, but it still blows most of the competition out of the water.

Old ceiling fan is Hunter Summer Breeze and the new fan is Hunter Regalia II.
What’s more insulting is when they use the downrod, canopy, and mounting bracket from the old fan with the new fan. There is a shoe store near me which has modern day Hunter fans(the ones sold at Home Depot/Lowes) installed on brass Hunter Original downrods/canopies (this tells me that the store at one point had Originals).
The old fan was a Hunter Summer Breeze I believe. So essentially you replaced a 80s-90s Hunter with a newer Hunter.
To me, I prefer the older one (Hunter Summer Breeze) than the new one you installed. What did you do with the old one anyways?

I remember there was a five blade version of this fan.
We just installed a Hunter fan model number 53314 with 5 blades. Hopefully it'll last, it looks good & runs quiet. =)
