  • Shahbaz Taseer is a Pakistani businessman, and the son of the former Governor of Punjab (Pakistan) Salman Taseer. In August 2011, following his father's assassination, he was kidnapped by militants in Lahore while he was driving to his office from home. Taseer was held in captivity for around four and a half years and was recovered from Kuchlak, Balochistan on 8 March 2016.Taseer's kidnapping was referred as one of the most high-profile kidnappings in Pakistan by The Guardian. BBC's HARDtalk interviewed Taseer about his days in captivity. In an interview, he mentioned that he was held by Uzbek militants, before eventually being passed to the Taliban.
During an interview, Shahbaz Taseer told: "I was ambushed by about five men... My first instinct was they were going to kill me. They drugged me five minutes after abducting me. I passed out - they had beaten me up very badly because I was moving and screaming while being drugged." He further mentioned that the militants used to beat them badly and his fingernails have been pulled out. The militants also sewed his mouth shut and kept him starving for days.

I barely ever comment on CZcams videos but I’m blown away. This guy is a legend, and so much respect for him. Mooroo you need to do a three part series on him, you need to do another podcast discussing how he kept going and what was keeping him alive during his time being away and another podcast on what it took him to get back into a normal life after 5 years of this trauma. You have to do it!

I found myself coming back to the podcast the next evening to finish it. Usually listen to stuff like this on my drive to and from work here in Toronto but this I wanted to actually watch because of how well edited it was and the closeups and expressions of each person, even when they were just listening and not talking. Good stuff, Mooroo. You got yourself a new subscriber! As an aside, it also opened my eyes to the struggles of an elite person; Shahbaz Taseer has been through hell and back, and he’s not your average Joe middle income earner with whom we would sympathise more. I am sorry for all the assumptions I made reading stuff online about his marriages etc. Goes to show anyone can be swayed by what the media wants to feed you. I hope Shahbaz that you are getting the continued therapy that you need; the demons may never leave completely but you are amazingly resilient. Godspeed.

The guy with long hair is non-serious as sh*t. He breaks the rhythm and cracks obnoxious jokes out of everything. In fact, none of them could relate to Taseer's conversation/ thoughts.
I need his story uninterrupted and in detail. Love you taseer 🥰

Maaannn that was some shit he went through and he is sitting here after all that and not loosing his sanity.. ULTIMATE RESPECT for you sir...
And sorry to say, this should have been a 1 on 1 podcast.. Evertime shahbaz starts, the other interrupts him into a whole new topic just to show his pathetic sense of humor and tye conversation is lost somewhere.. Really frustrating, and i think mooro was frustrated by him too..

Amazing. Had to watch in multiple sittings. Out of curiosity went through a few comments and I don't get why people need a perfectly choreographed and scripted interview. It's a podcast. That too between friends. Me and my friends are boisterous af when sitting down sharing cups of tea despite the subjects of conversations being extremely sensitive and serious.

Really interesting & knowledgeable conversation! Hats off Mooroo, your efforts in educating our society is really remarkable. Every single podcast of yours and even your vlogs have never ever disappointed. Well I do have a suggestion for you. Idk if its possible but I would love to have these podcasts over Spotify as well. As it's quite good to listen these podcasts in mp3 while driving or working where you are unable to use CZcams. I don't know you would read my comment but still I would leave this as my suggestion. Thank you so much

    regarding his wedding controversy
why we always think that its the man who cheated. It could be the woman. He was there with Taliban. His wife was here. we never know if she was seeing someone in that time or not.
when he came back. definitely 4 years abduction change you alot. people evolve. may be her wife didnt find him fit for her any more. May be she left him. And he had all the right to marry someone after that.

So true! I thought the same thing. All three were building conversations in a natural flow and interspersing with light jokes and teasing each another as well as seeking agreement or even at times disagreeing, all in a cordial manner and that really must play a huge role in keeping us mentally healthy.

What a journey Shahbaz Taseer was telling and the other guy put non serious words in his mouth and all the sudden the interview went from Shukran to Russia Ukraine war, then IMF and then Pakistan Politics! Like what’s going on! All these things we know is happening in Pakistan and we are not interested from a person who was in Taliban captive for 4 and half years ! Extremely disappointed from this Kabab Ki Haddi guy !!!!!
