  • Want to know how pellet heaters work? Watch this video to see what's inside, how they work and why they are a great heater. You might know them as pellet stoves or pellet fires but no matter what you call them or what model you have, they all work the same way.
    Sick and tired of moving, splitting, stacking and drying wood? Pellet heaters put out a lovely "fire" type of heat by burning wood pellets but are a lot easier to manage than wood heaters. Not only do you still get that lovely natural heat but a pellet heater offers a lot of the convenience you get with a heat pump, like switching on at a certain time or shutting down when your room gets to a desired temperature.

Using it at 8 ft. by 8ft. deer blind that is insulated. I have to keep the door cracked for it to get enough air to burn, but that is very likely the wood I've used. Much better quality than I expected for the price. Now if I can just take it easy in the beginning it won't be 90 degrees in my blind. All in all it seems like a keeper.

    Great video! I just fired up our stove for the season. Smoke has been coming out of the blower. Your input is appreciated

    • @tassiepelletheaterowners4472
      @tassiepelletheaterowners4472  Před rokem

      Hi, by blower if you mean room exhaust fan that blows got air into the room, then that shouldn't be possible. The smoke exhaust is obviously completely separate from the room fan.
      I'm guessing maybe something, first out whatever, has gotten into the room fan and that's why you are getting smoke. The only other way there could be smoke is of there was a hole or something. I wonder if the door gasket needs to be replaced. However, a bad door gasket would trigger a a vacuum day switch and the heater would shut down.
      Is the smoke only visible during startup? Do you have an outside air kit? Sometimes during startup there is a very tiny bit of smoke that comes out of the pellet heater but it's minimal and definitely wouldn't be heaps of smoke billowing out.

      Hey, propane as in bottled gas? I'm not sure what you pay for bottled gas but it's bloody expensive here. A pellet heater is definitely cheaper where I am. What does your father post for bottled gas and how long does a bottle last him? The storry answer is yes I expect it would be cheaper. If he had natural gas as in piped to his house, then natural gas may be cheaper but again depends on price.

    How much fuel is required for a couple months and what is the approximate cost of a bag of pellets? Do you have an exhaust going to the outside?

    • @tassiepelletheaterowners4472
      @tassiepelletheaterowners4472  Před 3 měsíci

      Cost varies greatly depending on which country you live in. Best to google prices. Most people will burn a bag a day in the middle of winter. Again, this depends on where you live and how cold your winters are. We burn about 60 to 100 bags a year. If you live somewhere that allows a lot you may burn 2 to 4 tonne a year. Depends on your winters, how big your house is, how warm you like it, do you have other heading etc. Yes, there is a chimney or flue.

      @tassiepelletheaterowners4472  Před rokem +1

      Not exactly sure what you mean by flood out. If it stops feeding pellets into the burn pot and as a result the fire dies out, then sounds like a temp sensor is faulty. It can't detect a fire so switches off. However, there could be many reasons. What's happening exactly and what do you mean flood out?

    • @tassiepelletheaterowners4472
      @tassiepelletheaterowners4472  Před rokem +1

      The fan voltage should change when you switch modes. Can you hear the exhaust fan going faster or slower when you change speed setting? The voltage should be higher, so the fan spins faster and more pellets are fed into the burn pot giving you a bigger fire or the opposite going slower and less pellets for smaller fire. @@ezellccful pulling the damper out should provide more air, which would be needed for a lazy flame. I couldn't find the M50 model but found m55. Does your model have the "trim combustion air" button? This will allow you to increase fan voltage or decrease and may be worth looking at. Wish I could help more but I assume the heater is new. The only things I can think of are voltage on fan is too low. There could be something wrong with the fan. If the heater isn't new has it been deep cleaned etc? I also assume when you change the heat setting the amount of pellets being fed into burn pot increases and decreases accordingly?

I can't comment on installation requirements, just that pellet heaters don't need to meet emission standards like wood heaters because pellet heaters already burn much cleaner.
