Thanks so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge! I've been a cosmetologist for 5 years and made the transition to strictly barbering 2 months ago. I've been devouring CZcams tutorials and I've found yours to be the most thorough and easy to understand. I can't wait for new videos! I just invested in the Magic Clips. Can you tell me what guards you're using in this vid? I'd love to make them my next purchase.
Best excellent educational video. I've been watching educational videos for quite some time now and this is the first one that I actually learned something...and the first to actually suscribed. Please keep up the good work. Keep them coming..
Believe me when I say, I try to cut my hubby s hair and your videos are the easiest way to learn, he said I M good to be a beginner! Thx for sharing your videos with us I appreciate it you don’t know how much!
Awesome video, you came out with technique totally different as always but i was wondering will this technique still apply if a client gets a triple 0 on the bottom?
amazing thank u so much please explain how u blend 1/2 to 1 without using the half guard . when u blend the first line was the lever all the way open ? or non
Yeah I'm a lefty too don't see too many tho...but I'm not actually a liscenced barber but trying to learn the basics and than actually go to school for barbering but first I gotta go back to school and get my g.e.d at least before I can do that...so pretty much trying to better my life since I was an idiot kid and dropped out of school when I was younger and now regretting it now that I'm in my high 20s and can't get a decent paying job lol
Hey will can you do a high bald fade or just a high fade tutorial video using your technique with the elevator steps , I struggle to see how it works with a high fade using the elevator steps . this would would help me improve my skills doing high fades . Great videos thanks for sharing your skills freely and taking the time to show other barbers keep up the good work .
Hi Will I watched this video abou 100 times and can see is amazing method easy to follow e.t.c cant really wait when You add another video with advance diffrent way maybe some skin low fade or something like that..regards
What’s up man I appreciate your videos the knowledge is on point. I was wondering are you still coming out with the video explaining the detachable blades just like you did with the video you did explaining the attachment guards?
See what about ppl that don't got the whals I got andis so I don't got a 1-1/2 guard...I got a 1/2 guard...so I would just use the1 guard and open it halfway?? To compensate for the 1-1/2guard???
Matt Loomis you got to be careful with the Andis guards cuz they have different measurements than the Whals. I was told they different cuz Andis has shorter teeth giving them different cutting lengths. Not 100% sure but I've noticed the difference when using my Masters then switching to my Designer's.
What's up brother OK I need help because I'm a little stuck. I am not a pro or licensed barber but I have been doing it since I would say the early 90s, but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or am I just doing it my way. You tell me. Now as far as feeding I noticed a lot of guys create the first line and then go up in clip sizes to create the second stage and the Third stage and so on. Now what I've been doing is when I do the all-around cut on the top let's say it's a four, I get that for all around then I come back with my zero closed. I make my line and go all the way around. Then if I did a four closed all around up top I come back with my three open then I start cutting all the way up to just about or below the crown. I work that all around, then I go to my three halfway work that down lower, than three closed work that down, then my two open, Then halfway, then closed, etc. working my way down clip sizes and position until that initial line has faded out. Now am I wrong in doing that or is there more than one way to skin a cat and that's just how it's working for me? Have you ever seen other guys do this method?
+Henry Ortiz what your doing is ok, it's almost the same thing.... my only concern would be do you have correct spacing between levels... but you can accomplish the same goal your way.... with that being said remember I create these videos in the simplest form to ensure everyone can understand them on every level... not to say this is the only way to do it.... does that help?
Will mate, add some new video with advance fade technique on youtube...but keep slowly, will be easy and clear to see all details when You fadeing e.t.c thanks
There is no right or wrong way to do it, just the way you are most comfortable. I taught myself to set guidelines with the lever closed the way Will is showing, but I can do it either way now. I suggest trying both ways and seeing if you prefer one way or another.
allstar904 no, your 1 guard open will come close to erasing the 1 guard closed line. If you can still see a faint line, try closing the lever half way, and keep closing the lever until it's gone. Worst case, close it all the way and use your corners to feather the line out.
Hands down the best educational video first there’s no distracting music and you slowly explain and clearly show 🔥
Thank!
I totally agree! I've watch quite a few videos. This is the best by far! Thank you
Thank you!
Man for real
Thank you for these great tutorials. I especially like the way you explain every step.

my dad cut my hair I can't see nobody else cutting my hair at this time
Well what i do is come down a bit less than half inch at a time. But yes your answer does help thank you tons.
Do you fade up with the lever open or closed? so I can go to balding it out to a 1 1/2 then work with the 2
So for this style of fade around the ear you would make that first guide about a inch or so? I have such a hard time around the ear part
With your andis t-blade what did you do to the clippers? It looks like you took part of it off. Is there a reason for this? Does it help cut better?
YOU are the man bro!!! been waiting on you to upload.
+Eugene Capielo thank you
+Eugene Capielo appreciate ya
Will Stamm Thanks. keep them coming!
Nice tutorial. Is this method of fading what they call "Down Fading?"
Make more videos Will ..I appreciate !!!
Hi Will I watched this video abou 100 times and can see is amazing method easy to follow e.t.c cant really wait when You add another video with advance diffrent way maybe some skin low fade or something like that..regards
+lukasz herczakowski thanks man....
Did you fade up with the lever closed?
Can you do a video for fading straight hair with detachable clippers
Amazing. I enjoy your tutorials I have learned so much. Do you do one on one classes or groups at your shop?
+Kerah Garvin yes one on one 1-2hrs $250 a class
Will Stamm. can I message you on Instagram so you can give me all the information that I need. i am Very Interested in the class.
+Kerah Garvin sure
+Kerah Garvin sure
Were the #11/2 and #2 all the way closed when you first time put them in?
I'm looking forward to your answer
Yes
great cut
Ayyo will the clippers open with no guard is a 1/2 so its basically the same thing as a 1/2 guard with the lever closed bro!
When you put on the 1 1/2 guard did you open it or close it? You didnt' specify in video step by step.
Do you zero gap all your clippers?
Are you trimmer blades modified ?
Being a barber its hard work watching you do this cut.. Like doing the 3.5 wasn't needed could have skipped that and other steps you done the first go
That's because this is for education purpose
Thank you!
What’s up man I appreciate your videos the knowledge is on point. I was wondering are you still coming out with the video explaining the detachable blades just like you did with the video you did explaining the attachment guards?
+rico works yea soon
that's not str8 hair! yes,you can cut but don't try to pass off slight curled hair or slightly wavy to make yourself look good
when you're working on your guards, are you opening or closing the clippers? its so confusing.
how come you didnt start at 0 and went to .5 instead?? preference?
@Will Stamm What is your preferred comb brand? I hear a lot of good stuff about the Y/S Park, and Vincent Ionic Combs...
Vincent is a nice brand
cool brother... thanks for replying
See what about ppl that don't got the whals I got andis so I don't got a 1-1/2 guard...I got a 1/2 guard...so I would just use the1 guard and open it halfway?? To compensate for the 1-1/2guard???

I LIKE THE WAY YOU EXPLIAN TO US ,,, YOU ARE TOO GOOD I WILL SUBSCRIBE YOU NOW
GOD BLESS YOUR HANDS WORK FOREVER
+Abraham Aning thank you man
And some times when I try to do touch up I forget what guard I use cause the lines are gone.
trial and error start off with a larger guard and work your way down in guards until the line is gone.
@@sense321 you mean going up the sides and back of head with a higher guard, and with a lower guard ending below it every time like a reverse fade?
Ulkucu cCc yessir 👍

Thank you

Wanting to leave work force. What your advice.
Barber industry is on the rise... never quit!
Give me ya thoughts on the Wahl color pro cordless
+Alfred Drayton never used them
Why wasn't the #0 wahl guard used? Can someone explain, please?
Leo Banks because he is doing a fade with the blade open without guard which is about the same measurement of the 1/2 (#0) wahl guard.
Yeah good but can you do a bald without fade?
hi there. what's the name of your clipper?
+Real Madrid wahl cordless magic clip
Do one on fast feed. My purple guard don't have 1 1/2.
If you're using the Andis double magnetic guards on your Fast Feeds, the #1 open will blend right into the #2 closed
So when I do guide line with the number 1 do I do it close??? I've been doing it open. Thanks for reply tho!!
There is no right or wrong way to do it, just the way you are most comfortable. I taught myself to set guidelines with the lever closed the way Will is showing, but I can do it either way now. I suggest trying both ways and seeing if you prefer one way or another.
If I do 1 guard close for the guideline will 0 open take out the guide line.

Is the 1 and a half clip equivalent to a 3/16?
+ImeLeb yes
ImeLeb that's basically what it is
That area isn't called the crown, it's called the parietal ridge.
Yoo Will! are you going to release any new content soon?
Tonight
Good job master $$$ but still waiting for new clip on shortcut technique*(min. 8.10)
no 1/16 guard?
1/16 guard would have blended that bottom line so easy, but Will showed it's not necessary I guess
Thanks for the vid 🙏🔥
+Joanthan Mendoza your welcome
💯
Where are you from Will?
Delaware
Thank you for the great videos!
Your welcome
Those clippers are loud.
Idk.. I can see a new barber easily getting lost in this process lol
needs some touch ups
Bro u make this confusing asf
Awesome!
Fade down and that is a 15 minute haircut and you don’t have to remove lines.
Good video, but ours too much with so many annoying ads. I'm out of this channel
You exaggerated the flicking motion way to much when using the corners
