Jodi Benson's Voice Note to Me from 90s Con - March 16th, 2024

Meeting Jodi Benson in-person for the first time was like catching up with an old friend. We met at GalaxyCon Live six times during the pandemic through video chats so my conversation with her was as welcoming as before. We shared our mutual praise of Halle Bailey's performance in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and I asked how her family was doing. She signed my copy of her memoir and she recorded a voice message on my phone where I heard her sing to me. I sang to her a couple of times in our previous chats so listening to her voice was a breath of fresh air to me. My mother went with me to the con and she enjoyed it when she heard Jodi say a line from The Little Mermaid, which was "Don't be such a guppy". We saw both adaptations of the film so letting her listen to Jodi's voice note with me was a meaningful moment for both of us. I hope that Jodi continues to portray my favorite Disney Princess as long as possible in her career. Even after 35 years, her voice hasn't changed a bit. :)
