      The United States did have their own space station called, Skylab. It disintegrated in the earth's atmosphere on july 11, 1979. The Skylab program cost 2.2 billion dollars.

      If Tiangong is a "bigger size Mir", then so is ISS. The only thing they have in common is that they are all space stations.
      When the basic design, life support system, electronics, orbit parameters, size and experiments are all different, you can't say it's the same in any way that makes sense.

    Tiangong also hasn't had time to build up storage yet. It'll eventually get cluttered. Mir was a notorious mess, but it looked pretty sleek when it began.

    there was purpose of the ruggedness of ISS..its all about accessiblity of the tools and quick response if any technical emergency occurs.quick troubleshooting... even the russian space station did the same thing.they couldve made it plain if they wanted and if they focused on the aesthetics... in space research , its not about aesthetics .its about how your space station should look aesthetically.... its about purpose and functionality..

    You have to remember that the ISS has been around for decades now. So imagine the hundreds of experiments and equipment they hauled up there. Im waiting for the day nasa calls it quits and allows an episode of hoarders to be filmed up there. They get the crew to go out on a space walk or lock them into whatever the equivalent of the space shuttle we have by then is.
    Anyway, I’m sure every astronaut would be happy to go on the new station just for the fact that it doesn’t smell like 40 years of old white guys ball sweat… but… idk how long its gonna take the chinese to beat the "lockeroom smell" record

This means its highly likely that there are already some 200M less people than the 1.4B they claim. Go look at the demographic map of China. Its top heavy, meaning there are more people in their retirement age than the one below that and then the same goes again. China literally aged out of the era where they could have maintained their size and due to the one baby policy most of them are men. I'll give you a hot tip, if you have few men and a lot of women you can theoretically have a lot of babies born, the other way.....not so much. Either way, by 2050 its estimated that China will be at 800M people. As a manufacturing empire you don't survive that. This is all ignoring things like Covid and the ongoing changes to the country under Xi.

The International Space Station has been up and running for years now.     In short, the life of the International Space Station can be extended for up to 5 years, which has already expired. The core module is powered by Russia. They have long wanted to withdraw. They will then build their own one to directly connect with China. After all, China’s newer and more advanced space will also big enough.

      Russia doesn't have the money for a new space station, and their segment alone doesn't generate enough power to supply themselves, the whole point of the ISS is that no segment can work without the other, so that no country could back out

    It does look way nicer than the ISS. But if there is one thing I know about things made in china it’s that the item always breaks after a couple of months. Iand space is the last place I want to be when that bad boy breaks down.😅
