Now I know that I was using way too much of it but it was still working amazingly. I have the same hair that you have but my haircut is like 4-5 inches on my sides and like 6-7 on the top and it works great for "longer" hair. I combine it with argan oil before blow-drying and northern lights matt paste for the finishing product. Great review 👍🏻
Great to see how it works for you! I've been pairing it with Northern Lights to get the most texture - they do wonders to my fine hair. That being said, it can get a bit dry after 4-5 days of use. Will a tonic help with that?
This seems to just make my hair greasy looking and oily. I thought sea salt sprays were meant to provide a matte look so I’m confused lol. I apply it in towel dried hair and then use my clay pomade to style… am I doing it wrong?
Just bought this and Northern lights paste as well. My hair is extremely thick and gets so frizzy way too easily it drives me crazy, I'm growing out a long undercut style similar to yours as well. Thank you so much for the video!
@@TDMStyle Okay so now I've got Northern Lights, Amity Spray AND 25 all in the mail! xD Thank you so much again man, I really appreciate it! :) It's a massive step up from the cheap 10$ pomade I've been using for years lol
Matt, another great review - love your content ... hey I just watched your review/demo of CRAFTED Blow Dry Cream... I'm curious how that compares to this Amity Texture Spray...? Esp for someone with finer hair... If you had to pick one which would you go with? thanks!
Thanks Dave! The Crafted cream is amazing stuff. I prefer it over Amity because it offers similar texture but with more smoothing, but for finer hair, you might like Amity for its more thickening effect.
Hair is looking amazing! So I have fine hair and when I use texture sprays it really makes my hair tacky and thick that I can’t use a round brush. Were you able to use a round brush with this?
I was! Just gotta make sure you don’t use too much or else it can get tacky. Also I find a wayyy easier time using stuff like this if I start with a smoothing base like 25 spray or a small amount of smoothing serum.
I know this isn't related to this video, but what are you thoughts on Brazilian Blowouts? I have thick wavy Middle eastern hair, so my ends get curly. Anyways good stuff!
Brazilian blowouts are great if you can afford it! They're very expensive mostly due to the cost of the products themselves (and the time it takes), but I would like to try one for myself one day just to see how it would work for me.
You certainly could, but I feel like that would be overkill tbh. Since CRAFTED also provides hold and texture and a bit of thickening effect, I think the two together might be too much.
Awesome vid! Ya I took your recommendation of this product a few months back and have been loving it since! You mentioned it in your video, and I've done the same, adding a smoothing agent to help with the dryness of the product. I've used blumaan's cloud control primarily for this as this is the only smoothing agent I've ever used. Other than 25 spray, what other smoothing agents/tonics do you recommend? I've heard templeton tonics makes a great hair tonic, but ya would love to hear some recommendations, i'm sure theres a better product out there than cloud control haha
Some of my favorite smoothers are Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion, Xmondo Glitterati and Electric Rain, Dauntless grooming oil, and TheSalonGuy Sleek serum. I haven’t tried Templeton’s actual tonic but have heard it’s good.
TDM Style thanks for the recommendations! Ya I actually saw that the salon guy sells 25 in a travel size for a bit cheaper so I actually think I might just give that a try. I know your a big fan/mike with dauntless just recommended it too in a recent vid.
Have you tried Aveda Texture Tonic? Im wanting a texture spray that does not dry my hair at all. My hair gets very course and I want even more smoothness than this texture spray.
Haven't tried that one, sorry. I will say though the Shehvoo ocean spray was one that wasn't drying and actually worked quite nicely for me. Also the Texture Spray from Trade Union is great kind of middle ground. But if your hair is really coarse, you might have better luck using a smoothing product instead of a texture/salt spray. Something like 25 from TheSalonGuy, Hydromania or Glitterati from Xmondo. They all add moisture and smoothing, but keep the volume and texture going too.
@@TDMStyle It smells hella good, but I am not sure about texture. On the other hand, the hold is kinda strong. I'm using it as a prestyler for Shear Revival's Gray Ghost, but after this combo my hair look kinda... ordinary. :c
Ah that's a bummer. If you have a Sally's or some other type of beauty supply shop near you, you can probably find a replacement spray nozzle. I'm pretty sure this one is a standard size.
@@TDMStyle okay thanks i got the 25 spray and l love it to death. Cant live without it, Just ordered the texture spray and northern lights matte paste. Hopefully its good for my hair :)
So your hair already has natural texture, so you use a smoothing agent first just so you can use another product to add texture back in? Lol. Seems a bit like a waste of money no?
My hair’s “natural texture” is coarse, frizzy, curly and poofy. It would look nothing like this if I didn’t use products lol.. so no, it’s not a waste of money.
Smells quite nice? I think u wanted to say it's the absolute top-notch smell of all time and universe and stellar system xD If I could, I would bath and sleep in it 😅🤭
It can if you use too much or if you have a coarse hair type like mine. But that's why I wanted to highlight how I use it alongside a smoothing product to eliminate the potential dryness issue.
TDM Style I actually got this for my sister (x - mas gift) bcuz her hair is really thin and she used it and it made her hair pretty dry (not sure how much she used I didn’t ask her) so I can’t imagine what it would do to my hair! I actually been wearing a mousse and I do the same thing you do in the video. I use Blumaan’s Cloud Control and I recently got Dauntless Grooming Oil cause i’m almost out of the Cloud Control
Like I've told you about 50 times now, I haven't even bought one yet. I have a massive backlog of products sent to me by other brands that I need to get to first. Aveda will happen, eventually.
Why is there such an urgency to review it? It's an older salon-made clay that is hardly a clay.. no one has been talking about it. Robin James has a review and a brand battle up about it, just use that.
Most other people seem to think it's funny too, and I like introducing a bit of silliness and humor into my videos whenever possible, to keep things fun and entertaining (and different from the rest out there). If I was doing a video about table manors dressed in a tuxedo, then yes, burping would be "classless" in that case. But obviously that's not what we are doing here.
Get texturized, bitch
Did you ever checked Dapper Dan Clay or Matte Paste ?
okay did you try blumaan. cc oh you tried. It. I was. Saying. Because. That gives. Me the best. Texturized. Look
Just bought this and got in the mail today. Can't wait to use it tomorrow!
Really love this stuff. Awesome review, as always.
That hair looking nice and voluminous 👌🏻
Yeeeee
100% agree about using a smoothing agent with this. I use something with sea salt sprays as well.
Yeah it def makes a big difference!

Thanks! Yeah I could see how it would work amazing on your hair length.

Ooh yeah I bet that looks dope. Yeah a tonic should definitely help with the dryness!

Ye man it's legit.
Have u tried Daimon Barber Texture Tonic? How it compares? If you haven't, do you know how this amity works with fine hair?
I haven’t tried Daimon Barber, but I could see Amity being great for fine hair since it adds a lot of body/volume.
Have you tried Aveda Texture Tonic? Im wanting a texture spray that does not dry my hair at all. My hair gets very course and I want even more smoothness than this texture spray.

Is it viable to do the same process without a final / post styler? I prefer hair to be more floppy without the “product sitting” feeling
Sure thing! This would be a good product for that.
Hey Matt - can you use this daily if used with an oil/tonic/etc?
Sure, I don’t see why not!
Nice review!!! How do you compare this to Stickmore’s?
For me I feel Boost tonic does more smoothing, less hold and is less of that dry/clay texture.
I want to try Shear Revival. What product should I start with? Which is your all time favorite? I currently have rather short hair.
Northern Lights!
My first pre-styler will arrive tomorrow in the form of black water. Fingers crossed
I still gotta buy some of that myself!
Spray arrived today, I will test it tomorrow. :3
Hope you like it!

Definitely.

one of the best things about sea salt/texture sprays is the size and price. That bottle is just gigantic
Right! It's yuge!
I’m gonna gets on the Amity train boiii
Yeee you won't regret it
Great product. My bottle sadly has a faulty spray nossle though and can be a bitch to use.

This or 25 spray for short hair?
They are for completely different things. Ideally I’d use 25 as a base with Amity on top of it.
