I’m 21 and this is the reason I only listen to music between the 60’s-80’s, pure talent, he’s not lip syncing and he sounds just like the studio version, same with CCR and all those older bands, they didn’t need loads of editing software to sound good
you all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?
I somehow forgot my login password. I love any assistance you can give me
I think you are right but you have to realize that trying to sound like the studio version is not always what a musician is trying to achieve. My piano teacher who played with Sinatra, Duke Ellington etc. told me if you play the same tune the same way every night on the road you will become bored. Now this is probably not true for all musicians, but for guys like Jeff who are Jazz babies, they what to challenge themselves. My teacher told me for example, Charlie Mingus would sometimes stop and tell his compatriots, hey I've heard that line before. cut out the BS. Now this is a relative concept. Beethoven from what I have read , thought his highest art form was his spontaneous improvising.
...I 'm 58 and I feel so too...
Good for you, bro! And you are right. I agree w/ Dufasaur, though, The point is perhaps not so much to sound alike on record and on stage. But to have music that carries w/o heavy editing, overdubbing, playback. (An excellent example for that: SRV!) Keep enjoying real music! (Klaus, 62)
You have good taste, sir! Art died somewhere between the 1990s and 2000s.
This man belongs in the rock n roll hall of fame. I truly believe it. Such a beautiful talent gone too soon.
Who cares! it a sham organization, would you want to be fellow members with some of the people in there….no thank you
I come back to hear Jeff sing this often when I'm down. Always makes me feel better.....RIP Jeff, Hope to see you playing in Heaven when my day comes. Hugs from Florida

This was our wedding song in 1990. Love his voice and music. Miss him.

I hope and wish that all these musicians who passed away to the other side are able and allowed to play their wonderful music in heaven!!!!!!!
One of the Prettiest Songs Ever Written.......RIP Jeff
written by John Hiatt but Jeff Healey really put his soul into it.
I agree.
I feel privileged to have seen Jeff perform live on two occasions. He played Angel Eyes both times, once at the request of the audience. Exceptional guitarist and talent. Sorely missed. RIP

You’re right. Jeff doesn’t rest IN peace…he rests ON peace.

That single was one of the most significant songs of my long life.
One of my favorite memories in my life revolves around my ex wife and this song and a pizza hut.
The pizza hut is now a used car lot and we both have teenage children.
But for that moment we were each others world. R.I.P. Mr Healy, you are a part of one of my favorite memories of my life.
Hi there mate from Qld Australia I know what you are saying so true anyway have a great weekend.
R.I.P. Jeff. One of the best there ever was, gone way too soon!❤️🤘✌️🇺🇸
This is the song my father sang to my mother to propose.
He was one of the most unusual and extraordinary musicians I’ve ever heard I’m still baffled by how he played the guitar just amazing. RIP Jeff.🥀

Everyone thinks hes American. We win again.

Though I'm not Canadian I'd like to honor whom I think is Canada's greatest singer, songwriter performer etc. Tom Cochrane.
This was(is) our wedding song in 89..
It was my Girls song, Darlyanna
I remember in 1987 ish I had the pleasure of watching Jeff play at the old Commodore in Vancouver BC and after an amazing performance he exited the stage past where I was sitting and I had the opportunity to meet him and express how blown away I was by his performance. I remember what a super nice guy he was and how very sincere and genuine a soul he was and is.
Best thing Canada has ever created
My buddy and I used to go to this old pool hall when we were in our late teens. They had a jukebox and I used to play this song every time I was there. I didn’t know who Jeff Healey was, but I knew I loved this song. It bring back good memories of my youth!

Imagine how strong of a passion he had for playing the guitar. To be so familiar with each fret and string to be able to learn it and play it blind. What an interesting man he was!

Jeff was so talented! He was amazing to say the least. A sighted person just can't even touch his talent. He had such misfortune, it's so sad that he's gone. I still listen to his music, especially his guitar playing!!! Gone are the greats.
For me this is a beast version ever.. Jeff you are my idol forever. 💪
Reminds me of you, Dan--I miss you. Xox

The song that always makes me so emotional. This beautiful ballad came out just as the beautiful love of my life broke off our engagement in Toronto where Jeff lived and I was destroyed. I saw him perform and the emotion he brought out in all people was incredible.

Hi Carla. I am sorry, but Jeff Healey passed away in March of 2008 after a 3 year battle with cancer. This and all official sites (jeffhealey.com etc.) are run by the Estate of Jeff Healey- myself and Jeff's wife Cristie. Thanks for reaching out! ~Rog
Such a talented and gifted musician/entertainer who is truly missed. This is my favorite song along with all of the music he performed on Roadhouse. When I watched Roadhouse that was my first time hearing his music and I enjoyed his performance in the movie also.
Love this song...
Jeffs voice was always SO underrated....Man this dude could sing his ass off!!!!
Beautiful! R.I.P.
This song was SO big when I was a kid. Much Music played it several times a day. Only now I see what a beautiful song it is
Absolutely love singing this song! What a talent!!! In case others didn't know, he's completely blind and had both of his eyes surgically removed at the age of 1. This is why when he first started playing guitar at age 3, he developed a really unique & unconventional way of playing on his lap. Such a great story, he will be missed...
My bad I thought he was 3..
Hi Chris. Actually, his blindness had nothing to do with it. At the age of 3, Jeff was given his first guitar for Christmas. Jeff's dad knew some 'Hawaiian style' (similar to a lap steel) so he set up the guitar with a high action and gave Jeff an iron bar slide to play with. He was still too small to hold the guitar, so they set it on the bed and Jeff banged away at it standing up. In Jeff's words, after a few years of 'torturing his parents with strange noises' he started trying to figure out how to play what he was hearing on records. They moved the action down to a more manageable height and Jeff started working out chords and such. He was already used to the guitar being flat, so that's how he continued... ~Rog
Man, what a voice
Uno de mis 10 mejores guitarristas de la historia sin discusión. El virtuoso rubio canadiense está en el panteón supremo de los DIVINOS ELEGIDOS para las 6 cuerdas electrificadas.
Wonderful song.
Unreal the skills of this man is not recognized more in the world of music.. Blind man with SRV licks and the voice of a deep voice God.. So sad Miss ya buddy..
what a talent
Perfect.
