That "sound of music" one was just bizarre.
I do love how incredibly 90s the set design is, with the glittery shades of teal, maroon, and lavender on the big triangles.
Dinner time at my house in the late ‘90‘s. I wish 9Now would stream these.
Wow, im 8 again. Thannku 👏👏👏
I was 3 at the time…
I used to watch Catch Phrase when I visited my Uncle and Aunt. They were the kind of people who would play along with the show. I never watched it at home. I preferred quiz shows like Sale of the Century that tested general knowledge. My gripe with Catch Phrase was that no one actually used the phrases in everyday life.
I remember Mark, from memory he went quite far in this show! Never thought I'd get nostalgic over gameshows, thanks for uploading ✌️
Same. I used to love this show.
One of the earliest episodes of Burgo’s Catch Phrase from 1997.
The Friday episode from the second week - March 31 was the very first episode.
@@7120Magnum this is the 10th episode of Burgo’s Catch Phrase.
I Am Massive Australian Tv Game Shows Fan
I really miss this show! So many childhood memories of guessing what the animated clips are hinting! Please, do upload more episodes if you got them recorded.
There's loads of episodes of the UK one, it's still on TV even!
@@Larry I've seen them and I'm amazed how they were able to archive all the old episodes besides showing the new ones. I wish someone would do the same for our version and it's a shame we only get a few episodes posted with some being just excerpts.
Judging by later clips they presumably thought these "catchphrases" were too hard and therefore started putting people saying actual *phrases* on the screen...
I noticed that as well. Plus, the catch phrases from these early episodes looked more crude than what came in the post-2000 episodes.
It's so close to the late 90s British version but not quite, like an alternate reality version.
I remembered Hyundai getting involved with Burgo’s Catch Phrase, just forgot they’d literally jumped the fence from Wheel to Catch Phrase.
I forgot how troll the last pictures were. Some could've been drawn better but they obviously make it awkward as possible.
I'm glad Burgo got a job and didn't let his sacking affect his career.
He still had his radio presenting.
She did not say sun bonnet 😂
And out of the trees 💀 25 years later I bet she still hasn’t lived this down
Out of the tree? 😅
Music is so creepy.
Fueled by the cheesy animation of these early puzzles.
Sale of the Century next?
Was it on earlier or something as a one off?
Yeah it was a one off because of the Superleague Tri-Series which aired at 7pm.
Depends on where you lived. You’ll often find outside of the metropolitan areas “Sale Of The Century” was on in the late afternoon. In Cairns where I lived, this was the case - WIN was the Nine Network affiliate and would air the local news at 6pm, Nine’s Brisbane bulletin at 6:30 and then “A Current Affair” at 7pm.
