White Tesla Seats after 1 year

- This is a test to find out how Ceramic Coated White Tesla Seats hold up after 1 year of blue jean stain. A big part of my decision to buy white leather was the belief that the ceramic leather coat would prevent blue jean stain from becoming permanent.

Yeah I’m just gonna save this video to my favorites so I’ll know what to use to clean my seats when I get my car.
Facts 😂 I just started working at the Gigafactory, planning on gettin a Y soon
Awesome! I am happy to have helped :)
Did you get your car yet
@@JOSEF_GAMING45 well I did get a car- it wasn’t a Tesla, sadly, but I’m so happy with my Camry. Maybe the future holds a Tesla for me.
I was very calmed by your voice and aesthetic of your video. You definitely deserve more subs!!
Thank you so much :)
That light metallic frost exterior is beautiful!
I’m about to order a new model 3 . I really wanted the white upholstery, but after seeing this video I’m going to go with the standard black. Great video , thank you
Question: 1st, excellent info thanks! Where can I get those neck cushions you have?? Thx!
good video, nice to know that the seats clean up well. but this isn't really a valid test for the ceramic coating. Was it the coating that made the seats easy to clean? or was it the seats? Without having a control (no ceramic coating) not sure that you can really conclude this was because of the coating.
Hi there, big fan of your content.
Have you ever considered to install ventilated seats into your Tesla ?
Had a model y for quite some time now, loving it but only drawback is that it doesn’t have a ventilated seats. Living in SoCal and it’s kinda a bummer to drive with sweaty ass and back.
Found a Katzkin cooling kit, might solve an issue.
Might be a cool idea for the video. Not sure if that’s possible to install on my own, maybe you can try it out for the fellow Tesla owners. I would definitely pay 1-1.5k just to get at least one ventilated seat.
Great Video man! ill def get the ceramic coating, it looks like its a good investment. Just waiting on my model 3 now!
Thank man! You won't regret it
Awesome video, good info.
Can we all ask Tesla to give us update to apps to reflect correct interior colors? (currently only black interior in climate tab)
Awesome video👍🏼
Fantastic video
thank you for video! used your code for referral program :)
I have a truck with nice black leather seats and man do I take care of them extremely!! I clean them and leather them every 2 weeks I have a seat protector on my side of the driver side idk wrinkle leather just gives me the chills I hate it
And what is the result if you hadn’t used the coating?
Nice, but how tf did you get the interior so dirty? What are you clothing are wearing as you made those scuffs in the leather? Thanks for the tips!
Hey dude, good luck on going this full time!
Thank you man. Here I go
I would love if they'd offer white interior with black seats. I already expected they would stain badly but this is even worse than I initially thought tbh.
I like the plug for the Tesla owners Clubs. They can be a great resource to improve your Tesla experience.
Some states need active EV owners to speak up and support legislation for EV adoption in your state.
I love the owners club. such a great resource :)
@@MyTeslaAdventure How does one actually join one? Do you just email the person in charge of the club?
You at the Rocklin Superchargers?
I'd recommend a dedicated leather cleaner with the proper ph and a horse haired brush. Considering leather is not flat, the brush will help agitate inside the crevices that the micro cannot get to while maintaining the pressure needed. But good work on coating the seats beforehand to preserve them.
This is vegan leather or fake leather. Using traditional leather cleaners is redundant.
i love your car its has the color and brand
If you own a Tesla with white seats you should go get all your jeans out of the closet right now and throw them into the washing machine and wash them several times until the water no longer turns blue. Never wear NEW blue jeans without washing them several times. Taking the time to wash and rewash the jeans several times will reduce any blue dye transfer. Another option is to get a white towel to sit on when wearing something that you think might stain the seats. Support used clothing stores like Goodwill to buy used jeans and they will probably have been washed many times and have had the majority of the dye bleed out already.
What if you have a front loader
Good video! How long have you had this car? Getting a Model Y soon so I'm deciding white or black interior 🙃👍🏽
What did you end up going with!? And Thank you :)
What ceramic coating did you use?
Is this only for Tesla leather or it can be use on anyOther white car leather ? 🤔 for example I have an bmw with white leather can I use this product as well ?
I think I would skip the coating, it did not really work. I have full unprotected leather and it cleans faster and nicer.
Thank you, very sound advice, we will follow master of white seats.
Just finished making the year two video of white setas. it will go out in the next day or two
1:08 is in the door, not the seat. This is a model S. New model 3/y does not have this door feature.
Thank's for all your good videos. I have the white interior too and I clean my front seats every time I wash my car with Wet Ones for babys and it only takes seconds to get them like new each time. I got my Raven Model S Performance almost exactly when you got yours last June and I have a question for you, did you have to make them replace your front half shafts ? They replaced both of mine two months ago and now the left one has started to vibrate again. What's your experience regarding that ?
They actually just replaced my two front shafts last week. It's been great since but I'll be monitoring to see for sure. And my pleasure, I love making these videos :)
this was a very helpfull and good
Nice! Where did you get this wrap? Looks cool, looks like a brushed metal.
Yes sir! it is a brushed steel wrap from 3M
Thank you for this video. The white seats are amazing. How many miles on your new car have added on your car? What is the longest drive without stopping to charge?
14,000 miles and, you know, I’m not sure my longest drive with out a charge but it was around 300.
My Tesla Adventure wow 300 miles that is great... probably rest stop after 4 or 5 hour driving ? Highway speed 70 or is it higher?
@@staly23o I average 75 on the highway. Usually I Stop and take a break after 3 hours of driving. 4-5 is a long time but I've done it before.
how to you clean the matt ppf?
It would be a little silly but could I not just put down a white towel (the really smooth kind) in the seat and then put that towel in the back seat, or somewhere else when I’m done driving?
Is optimum no rinse and wash good for interior is this safe ?
I see product reviews as exterior only
@My Tesla Adventure. You have your blue car wrapped gray?
Thanks for the video. I just got a MY and want to make sure i upkeep them well. This dye transfer you show is before or after ceramic coating your seats?
So the dye will still transfer but with the ceramic coating I was able to get the dye off versus my friends who didn't ceramic coat the dye stain was permanent
Will this stuff remove seatbelt stains as well?
Maybe it was mentioned, but I wonder what a magic eraser would do on these? But also if it'd even be ok to use on this material...
I need to scrub more! Thanks Eli
You bet brother!
Are you able to purchase new seats from tesla?
I used one of the Mr. Clean sponges on that raised edge and it came right off, so just touch ups with that sponge is my plan.
It’s too abrasive you’re damaging the seat
Wow that leather completely coming apart on the side after 1 year? My jeep has 250,000km and it doesn't have a single seam or wear part that significant. The more I watch these videos the more I reconsider if tesla will be my next vehicle
Where did you get your neck pillows in white? That's what I'm looking for
I got them from here: evpremiumcustoms.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/tesla-custom-made-neck-headrests-1pair?variant=31665773936685 They also made a discount for members of the my tesla adventure community 20% off with the code myteslaadventure
Simple green probably cost three cents an ounce and works just as well
I can't stand talking with other white interior owner like myself they feel of that the coating is overkill... I've had my Tesla for three months is just starting to show some stain I'm going to use mild soap and water and I'm sure I'll get them very clean... if you clean them every 3 months you don't have to pay five hundred bucks to get them coated.... and if you do you definitely don't want to use a ceramic that's used on leather seats
Hi. Did you have this car wrapped in this color?
Great content! Are your seats real leather or the vegan leather (like the Model 3)?
I have the full vegan interior
It is not real or vegan leather, it is Polyurethane, an oil based product.
@@Hattonbank Yes, you are absolutely correct that it is a polyurethane, however, I was using the same vernacular that Tesla uses. They call it "vegan leather".
@@BecauseTesla Considering the incredible strides that Tesla have made within the auto industry, and their resistance to using bovine leather, there is no shame in describing the material accurately, as I am sure it would not deter customers.
Other manufacturers who offer alternatives alongside leather describe it more accurately without trying to confuse it with leather as it seems to have done with many contributors to this video.
The seats are nicely styled whatever the trim material used.
@@Hattonbank very good point! Thanks!
Where can I get the same SpaceX logo that you have on the trunk lid?
I got the spaceX decal here amzn.to/37yTiIf
Great video man!! I love the White interior
Thank you man! And I totally agree the white is beautiful
My Tesla Adventure you welcome!! I know right!!!
Where did you get the headrest extensions?
Yes please, where?
I’ve been to that charging station that ur at multiple times
If once a month I clean my leather seats with a leather cleaner, will it strip off the conditioner I put on the month before?
Mine arn't real leather they are vegan leather and I'm not sure.
I’m planning on doing Uber with my Tesla and I really want to get the white (and ceramic coated) but do you think I’ll have to wipe up after every passenger? Do you think it’s worth it?
I’ve only cleaned my seats twice in 50,000 miles and they look great.
If you clean the seats with that solution every month? Will it not get like yours?
Correct! It only got like this cause I waited to so long. It was a good test though to see it all still came clean
do you have a link or video how to order the head cushion on the seats?
Did you wrap or paint your car cause those door jams are blue as heck
Yes! The car is wrapped with 3M's brushed steel
The Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine is an excellent product and also their OptiShield product is excellent for paint protection. I didn't have any paint protection film or ceramic coating on my June 2018 Model X Pearl White but once I had four or five applications of OptiShield on the paint, bugs and dirt pretty much slide off with a little rain or rinse. I have black interior . . . wouldn't consider white for the very reason you show here . . . I just don't want to spend time and energy trying to keep the seats looking good.
J J did you do it yourself? And was it easy for a novice? I’m getting my M3 soon and considering this treatment ASAP
Good video however, it would have been great (and more objective) if you cleaned the other side with baby wipes which seem to be what many use.
I really appreciate your video because I would like to get the white.
Just wondering what the color code/name of the wrap is?
Brushed Steel by 3M
I thought Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine is for exterior only....
Me too! Guess it works inside too!
I think it might produce fumes and so it needs to be used in open air. Dunno
Do they still clean up easily/nice without the coating?
Just use unscented baby wipes
How long are you gonna wait until you clean your seats again
16 months! Hahaha actually probably 3 months.
This is why you should just make sure to take the time to spritz the seats down with detergent-free soap and water and then wipe down with a micro-fiber work at least once per month.
You aren't wrong. That is what I should do, but since I don't, it makes for an interesting demonstration with my year seat cleanings.
So would you recommend white seats?
100 percent yes.
Just use a wet mr clean magic eraser sponge..
That is what I use as well!
That is not impressive. I thought those seats were almost unstainable. You had to scrub the hell out of them to clean them, and that’s after ceramic coating them. Glad I got the black seats.
I did't clean them for 8 months of daily driving with blue jeans. Most seats would have been permanently stained with that type of use. Most people don't want to long to clean them and it doens't take very long to clean them.
@@MyTeslaAdventure you may need to get better jeans for real. No joke. Model 3 owner here 2018, never ceramic coated a seat (which Im sure is not recommended) and ZERO stains. My friend in Miami Model S with white interior....ZERO stains and didnt ceramic coat. I dont buy this. Magic eraser. Baby wipes. Leather cleaner.
Only black interior
8 months = 1 year?????
Are the seats made of plastic? Or what type of material is it?
Made from real vegans! lol
@@brasha78 I'd be sitting on the skin of one of my people lol
@Antonio Zamudio Doesn't it get hot?
Yes, PU or if you like, plastic, all derived from oil.
@@Hattonbank I always hated pu seats because they get burning hot in the summer
Jeans always stain light leather seats, this is why I always avoid white leather on cars. They look cool, they reflect light a lot more but they take a lot more attention and cleaning to look good over time.
with puttin on a ceramic coat I've had no issues, even waiting 8 months to spend 15 minutes cleaning them there was no residual stain after. But I was always worried before and thats why I didn't go with white on my first Model S
Cool video, definitely interesting to see how dirty the seat are. Personnaly, I cannot understand why anyone would go with anything else but black for synthetic leather in a car, certainly NOT white. For me that's ugly and of course downright dumb for the obvious reason that it gets too easily dirty.
Its super easy to clean, I'm making a follow up video here shortly for 2 years with the white seats. Funny enough I have not cleaned them since making this video a full year ago so you can see a years worth of build up, and it's not much.
Hi there
Do the seats come with ceramic coating?
they do not come with ceramic coating that is something you have to do yourself post delivery, and I highly recommend it.
Makes no sense to scrub seats clean 2-3x a year. I’ve never done this with any care before.
Im getting a Tesla, feels good to say that and I will never let anyone touch the leather, I'm getting seat covers, I don't care what anybody says lol
That solution works too!
I just don’t wear jeans. Chinos all the way. Problem solved haha - except the wife does….😊 I didn’t coat my seats, and they clean up just fine.
So to conclude: don’t be rocking Walmart jeans if you buy the white leather because the paint from the jeans does not last.
convinced me to not get white
I will just put a pillow on it if i‘m driving and easy solution
Those are not leather and the coating is not ceramic!
@Tony It is not leather, and I seriously doubt that you can make a flexible coating using ceramic as a base.
These guys be cap. My seats stain easy and ceramic coat doesn’t work
It worked great on mine, not sure why it didn’t work as well on yours. How often do you recoat yours?
Looks like torture. No thanks on the white for me. Appreciate the video!
Now try do the proper test go to your local filling station or gas station by some petrol And put petrol all over the seats then add a flame And let us see the results
only white leather i'll ever cop is my sexy white leather skinny jean 7 length. and i'm a 240lb dude. picture that.
you are welcome.
Hmmm yah, getting black interiors lol
Shocking bad quality thats a first in car.. 8 months, leather torn an Jeans stain..
What?
if you can afford a tesla ,just take it for a valet . £20 .
Imbarrasing by Tesla, ive seen 10yr old car seat better than ur 8 months seats..
FYI not real leather. Not even close
Leather is showing that much wear after only 8 months??! What a POS.
It’s not leather
@Tony There is no such thing as polyurethane leather.
It is either polyurethan which is made from oil, or leather, the hide from an animal reared for its meat.
These guys are not telling the truth. I’m making a channel. My seats again easy
Definitely make a channel if you are interested in making Tesla videos! That said, my seats took some effort because I didn't clean them for almost a year 😅
Cant believe how shitty the quality of these cars are this long into the day.
My driver seat looks better than that after 4 years and 60,000 miles. THIS IS A SIN that Tesla doesn't make better seat covers. I really do want one and have a Y on order. The seats and paint job just really disgust me.
Did you watch the full video? They came almost completely clean. My seats are great and they look new.
@@MyTeslaAdventure Yes, I did watch the full video (thanks for posting it, it was helpful). I also saw the area of the seat that is totally worn off (damaged). Have you ever seen a car seat do that after 8 months? I like the look, I like that they are going after sustainability, I just wish they were better.
Dude such BS. I own a Model 3 with white interior for 3 years. I wear jeans, shorts, whatever and ZERO stains. 2018 Model 3 performance. Buy better jeans!
Go watch Marc Benton’s video if you don’t believe me. Had had all sorts of permanate stains on his white seats.
LoL, those are fake leather, just fossil fuel products, like the rest of the car that needs fossil fuel to make them.
@Tony No such thing as PU leathert. Leather is a hide from an animal. bird, mammal or fish, leather is not made from oil. Stop repeating this BS. Do you know nothing about basic chemistry?
All that wear after 8 months maybe buy a better quality car
