The Masquerader (1914) Keystone - Charlie Chaplin

Charlie plays his own role here, wears the tramp makeup for a shoot. The director explains to him that he must rescue the baby of a young mother at the exact moment when a terrible character brandishes his knife above the cradle. Only Charlie is distracted off set by young actresses and forgets to take the stage. The director, tired, kicks him out and forbids him to come back. Charlie disguises himself as a woman to reenter the studio and get even.
