    I have a pair of Realistic Minimus 7 speakers with the Ziltch crossovers and would like to take bass response lower by building a couple of bass extension stands. The factory specs say these play down to 50hz but I am assuming at that point they are down at least 12db. If i want to have them play down to 40hz would I build a low pass set at 40hz or higher? Is a 40HZ crossover fully crossed over at 40HZ or is that the point they start to roll off.

    That's cool and everything, but, are you're sharing knowledge on the how to, or just letting it be known that you can build a x-over. A key ingredient, would be to know how many wraps with the copper wire.

    By calculating capacity... The four capacitors by this connection will have the same capacitance as only one... Why 4?

      Coloca 4 capacitores porque primero hace la conexion de 2 en serie pero el valor (baja a la mitad -11 uF) y despues de esta conexion realiza la 2a conexion en paralelo para elevar al doble el valor que habia bajado a la mitad (11+11= 22 uF) ya que utiliza capacitores polarizados. Pudo haber utilizado un solo capacitor de 22 uF pero bipolar (No polarizado).

      the wider the wire the less resitance you get. normally you want resistance as low as possible, unless you want to decrease the sound pressure level

      what a trash!! for 1000 Watt you need coildiameter 2mm copper or more by aircoil. and real Caps with 50 Volt or70. not Caps for electronic circuits.

      Veo que no responden pero son como 16.10 m. unos 115 gramos y con el vaor de inductancia propuesto en el video de 22 uF el corte va a ser algo así como 422 Hz en pasabajo obviamente.

    1000w? Ha...With 0.9 mm wire it will burn like hell!! And at this power 1000w NEVER use electrolitic capacitor!!! Use mylar capacitor at 250v they are cheap and good for sub.
