When you hold predaking you just feel powerful. it's so cool how much combiners evolved from devastator to predaking.
Springer was always my favorite. He was a triple changer. He was green. He had a sword! He had the best line in the movie, "I've got better things to do tonight than die."
That Galvatron clips, best stuff evar!
Sometimes wonder if Galvatron lost it cause he finally took out his rival but didn't know what he'd do after the fact and he only really got what that meant by thinking about it while he was stuck in that plasma crater but it was too much for him
Love this idea! It’s exactly what happened to Megatron in the comics when Prime died.
@@MichaelMercy ikr, gives him some depth, also I had no idea about the comic so I'll have to check that out
Between ‘86 Transformers and ‘86 G.I.JOE, I was a very happy and lucky kid.
86’ and 87’ were my favorite years for both. Wish I hadn’t sold my terror drome at a yard sale when I thought I was too cool for toys.
Me too
Everyone makes fun of Springer's toy but I thought he was awesome as a kid. I loved my Cyclonus too, good memories, cheers :)
Tell ya what, Siege Springer is everything I ever wanted as a kid. It's AMAZING.
I liked springer too
They were my 2 favourite toys and still. Are
Another fantastic video, and that shootout scene made me laugh like a fool!
Thanks! 😁
Me too! xD
This is my favorite era of Transformers...thanks for doing these
Thanks Michael Mercy. “When all are fun .”
thank you for posting your video today cause it is actually my birthday
Happy Birthday Edmund! 🎂
These episodes just keep getting better. I remember getting Ultra Magnus as a kid and pretending his white cab/bot mode was just Prime's rebuilt form after death. I guess its how I tried to deal with what happened in the movie. Nowdays I have a huge appreciation for the big guy, base bot or combined mode!
I had Rodimus Prime, couldn't have Optimus, but damn I loved that toy, I really miss my old friend.
BEHOLD!!! A you tuber who actually appreciates TF the movie for the cinematic masterpiece it truly is
I love predaking and blurr he is so fast and talks fast, I think predaking is stronger than other combiners
Another great overview and you know what I don't care what anyone says Hotrod is still my favorite character also I just love that Rodimus Prime was the first space Winnebago take note Lone Star
I love the 86 lineup. Ultra Magnus is such an awesome toy.
Such a fun video to watch! I can only imagine the effort it takes to mix and match those episode snippets. Looking forward to the next one.
Once again, OUTSTANDING
Awesome video. Brings back so many good memories. I'm 48 and proud to say that I have all these transformers except for predacons and sharkticon still in their boxes. G1 for life.
Nice recap of 86' - a real transitional year! I gather that the larger scale and brighter colors were an attempt to make the toyline more durable and kid friendly. Most of the Diaclone, Microman, and Takatoku toys had already been used, so these are really some of our first original "Transformers".
Man oh man!! Brings me back to the good old days!! I still have some of my old friends, now my sons playing with them!!!
2:56 scale the most important thing in transformers
you are a great storyteller , one of the best
12:25 Was that a reference to “The Rude Awakening of Optimus Prime”? 😂😂
Another great addition to your History of Transformers series, Michael. Great job with the video, as always. Cheers M
The Junkions and Quick Kick would be buddies. They have much in common.
Ba weep grana weep nidi bon
WHERE'S MY SCHOFIELD?!? I love those skits! Please keep them coming :D
Another great video. I remember getting cyclonus and scourge. I thought they were cool because of their faces on the toys.
What the fun!?!? Lol. Always great when old man mercy makes an appearance. Thanks for working so hard on these videos. Worth the wait!
Thanks Tim!
I wish they'd do more G1 season 3 re-issues. I used to have them all when I was a kid but stupidly got rid of them
Pipes was my first ever transformer, sadly I wasn’t alive when it came out but I use to go tag slating with my dad all the time and I would find old 80s toys all the time for cheap like 5-25 cents sometimes a dollar. Transformers were my favorite after pipes I got hooked and that’s all I looked for well that and star wars stuff. Broadside was one of my favorites and g1 Optimus. The triple changers were my favorites I was giving a whole bunch of toys by a guy I got over 40 transformers and 30 plus other robots, as a 7 year old it was the best day of my life. Still have all of them and I good shape as my dad was a collector of antiques so I wanted to be like him so I collected “old” toys I remember buying sealed masters of the universe toys and GI joes for 25 cent at a flea market every week I’d get 2 for a summer. Just got back in to collecting toys been going through my collection. Insane the price I have a sealed Rodimus, unicorn and the Optimus 2nd release unbelievable how much they go for now.
Love your 80s history of toys! Such a wonderful time for me. Great memories.
Can’t get enough of this thank you and stay safe
Wait a second, you could attach Magnus's head to his trailer mode? I never knew...
I was today years old when I discovered this, too!
Now you know! :D
And knowing is half the...wait, wrong franchise.
Cool keep up the good work your videos are so inspiring too
Loved this episode can't wait for part 4
I had Sandstorm, Blurr, Ratbat and Frenzy plus Kickback and Mixmaster. Totally variety for Me growing up!!
little did they know in 10 years they would use the predacons again, yeeeeeesssssss
Very awesome video. I think The Transformers had their biggest year in 1986 with the whole new line of toys, a full feature movie and the follow up season 3 of the animated series. It was such a fun year and I think Transformers lead that year in popularity for children and anybody else who liked Transformers. Thumbs up for your video, it's so totally awesome.
Wow, outstanding!! This was worth the wait. Looking forward to part 4.
Fabulous stuff as usual, Michael...and I've said it before and I'll say it again, you know you're getting older when you start identifying with Kup more than you do with Hot Rod...good ol' Roddy's still got the coolest-looking vehicle mode of any Transformer though, yes?! 'Til All Are Fun...!!!
Loved the live skit ! Man your content is awesome 👏 nerdmaste my friend !
The boys from the movie are back to kick some butt!
Thanks for the memories it sure brought back fun times i had with friends who had lots of transformers. I just subscribed can’t wait to see the other part
"Have I got the wrong idea, or are these guys a bunch of wimps?"
"Yes, they appear to be wimps."
Thanks, I got a few laughs out of this.
No wonder that Galvatron got so crazy if his toy's gimmick was that sound all time.
Another great episode. :D Looking forward to Metroplex, Trypticon, and of course the most amazing Autobot of them all, Skylynx. :D I hope this video series continues into 1987. :D Fortress Maximus is my 3rd favorite Autobot behind, Ultra Magnus who is #2 and Optimus Prime who is #1. :D Thank you for this amazing video Michael Mercy, Double Thumbs Up. ;D
I think I may have been the only one to catch it, but I love the MASH reference you threw in.
So sad that season 3 and 4 were so short. But I heard season 4 continued in Japan as the Headmasters.🗾
Seems like 1986 was a very good year for toys in general! It seems I like a lot of different toys from that year in many lines!👍
I absolutely love the colors on most of these!👍 For some reason Blurr stands out to me! Love those blue colors!👍
Another TRANSFORMING episode Michael!😁👍
Thanks Bill! Yeah '86 was a colourful year!
Love the colors in my vintage toys! If you look across the board in all lines I collect you will see some beautiful colors friend.😁👍
I'm going to say that Kup was a pretty neat toy. It was solid metal and it really did roll. It wasn't made of cheap plastic that broke either.
Yeah I'm glad that in a year where they were moving away from die cast, they gave his toy a lot of it to make him seem more old-fashioned.
After seeing these video I think the first line of Transformers over all looked the best.
I love this year of transformers. Fantastic review/video buddy!
1:34 : It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that the reason he’s called Kup is because is the last three letter of pickup as in picKUP truck. 😅
I love this video
I wonder how many kids mistook magnus for a reformatted Optimus prime before the 86 movie came out
13:25 no one noticed the Wilhelm scream or what? Nice touch! :)
Oh man!
Awesome!!!
I remember that summer.
SOOO MANY TOYS!
13:34 gotta be my favorite part. I believe the clip speaks for us all.
I wish some of the 86 characters could get a lot more recognition. Kup, Galvatron, Blurr, Springer, and yes, even Hot Rod are some of the best characters in the g1 Transformers line, and just as good as the 84 and 85 bots, even though I personally prefer the 84 for sentimental reasons. Not to mention all the other characters that appeared, they should all get a little more recognition with the modern fanbase. And Wheelie, which I know is a bit more recognized, I feel should get a little more love. I've always liked his fun character.
Hey Duck, I know your comment is 7 months old but just in case you dont follow the Transformers toy lines you should look up the brand new Studio Series ‘86 line that just came out! Our favorite Transformers the movie bots got the best looking figures ever! Kup, Blurr, Scourge, Hotrod, and more all got amazing figures made!
@@garcher7169 Already picked some up. :)
Kup was my favorite of the movie era!
Awesome job! Loved it! Can't wait for part 4!! 👍🏻👍🏻
It's interesting you call the city Transformers "the big boys." From my perspective, the original "big boy" was Omega Supreme. My opinion is that any Transformer who's roughly Omega's size or bigger is considered a big boy. That would also include the greatest combiner of all time "Predaking."
Season 3 was good i love it all the episodes
Great Job on this series Michael.
Thanks Travez!
I love your "History of Transformers" videos!! ☺️
love them all . Great video
Thank you Steven!
thanks for your work
I love all the videos that you do please may you make more videos I want to see more
Galvatron toy has a funny sound like a hyper Hyena!!! As a character, "He is CRAZY!!!"
Maybe it's just me but I actually wonder what music each of Blaster and Soundwave's tapes would play
I'm willing to wager Rewind, instead of music, would play a day-long documentary or something
Blurr always makes me laugh every time i watch the movie!ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU
Seriously Orson Welles was perfect for Unicron, who else could play a planet eating Transformer than one of the greatest actors in history.
I have been looking forward to this video all week, and it was even more fun than I expected! 😊 Loved the humor in it, especially the “just like back in Korea” part lol. I was a huge fan of Galvatron’s madness in the cartoon, especially the episode where the other Decepticons brought him to the asylum😂. I unfortunately was never able to get him myself, as he sold out in my local toystore just when I had saved up enough money to buy him. Oh well, that’s the way these things go sometimes. Looking forwards to next week already: keep up the great work! 😀
Thanks Michel! 🙏
In the 84 episode i asked a question if a giant battery powered dinobot was a real transformer or a look-a-like!...guess this 86 episode answered my question ...hehehe...it was the extra large grimlock version i was revering to!
Wrekgar was one of the rarest to have
So sad that the 80s kids never got an arcee toy. I’ve always wondered why they didn’t go through with it
I could never except Rodimus as a Winnebago lol I always thought of him as a futuristic car/tractor trailer
Till all are fun 😊
season 3 is where its at for me
I need pegs to hang some modern joes. It looks like so much fun to comb through the cards like I did as a kid. I need to make room asap!
What the fun is this havent seen so many robots since korea
Excellent as always.
Very fascinating and fun thank you! 👍🏻
Used to have Springer, Ultra Magnus, and Hot Rod as a kid.
Forgot how short Springer was compared to the other bots from that year! In stark contrast to the cartoon...
"What the fun!" (I was expecting "What the hey!") XD
season 3 was an existential nightmare lol
I was admiring the mustache then pew pew pew. I lost it that was great.
Rodimus Prime is my favorite of the '86 line. He was also the 3rd G1 Transformer I got after Optimus and Megatron. Still need to get Galvatron though.
"Till all are one""
Why does Galvatron remind me of the Magician from Frosty the Snowman?
Oh you finally got wreckgar😁 I remember in a video where you showed your transformers collection. You didn't have the original G1 Wreckgar
12:05 I got hit by the nostalgia train so hard! I had this Megatron when I was a kid! ❤❤❤
Any one else find the loss of the great decepticon leader's insanity to be a bit tragic? Or is that just me?
I think it was fair that Megatron’s fate was worse than death. I felt like in the long run, Prime won that fight. It was a sad end but well deserved for what a stinker Megs had been. Cobra Commander’s on the other hand was way too tragic.
@@MichaelMercy He wasss onccce a maannnn...
But by 2005 or so, he got better. ;)
My favorite triple changer was always octane.
Wait! predacons sounds familiar.......
BEAST WARS!!!!!
Megatron..my brother got him in 1986 Christmas...
The question I had back in 86 was... can Broadside land on himself? Asking for a friend...
His jet mode was a gigantic troop carrier on the show as well so probably not.
