I agree with the BOTW, and OHN clips, but for Arirang Alone, her best clip was on 20150613; for I have Nothing, her best clip was 20150912; for fate, her best clip was on 20150224. 2015 was her best year in my opinion tonality wise (I like how 2024 is going along though so far however)
I guess u especially like the brassy/twangy tone as your choices all have this quality. I appreciate your opinion but those performances are actually not good in technical aspect. Especially, in the performance I have nothing, she was continuously pitchy in the undubbed version. The Bb5 in this Arirang perf is pretty nice, but the sustained G5 is very narrow/twangy/overbrightening tbh. Yah I just explain for my choices that technique is the most important criterion to me and again I appreciate yours. Thank you 🥰

@@GuinevereYT definitely 2024 version. The G#5 has same quality as 2017 one. The Eb5/E5s are really better with more weight and stunning vibrato. The only worse thing is the pitch, she went flat at some part

i wonder how high she can belt and what is the difference between belt and mix, seems like mixed voice has a different tone from her real voice
Sohyang has pretty much the same belting and mixing range. Her highest belt and mix are C6. Just compare her Lean on me C6 (2014) with Upon this rock C6 (2022). She just started mixing more in her higher range starting from 2016. Considering her ease throughout her entire career, I'm pretty sure she can mix higher than that. I doubt we will ever hear it tho as she simply doesn't sing in 6th octave that much, her songs don't require that
Yes, mixed voice is airier/breathier than speaking/modal voice. When switching from chest voice to mixed voice, it will result in audible register shift which is easily heard
@@sohyangedits1599I'd say all of her C6 from both 2 performances of LOM in 2014 are mixedvoice. Her highest belt note is still C6, I mean brief C6s in 2000s
