Since our eyes are set apart, they give two lines of alignment, which can be confusing. Closing one eye helps in forming only one line of alignment and taking a correct aim.

@leogoppert6027 he's not a professional shooter. So most people close one eye to get a better sight with their dominant eye. Obviously when you a properly get taught to properly shoot they aim to make you use both eyes.
