I can't believe I've never heard of this as I'm from East Lothian and born about the time of these murders. In fact have eaten at the Blenheim House Hotel In North Berwick. I really appreciate this channel, you have a good mix of well-known and lesser-known cases and always so well made!

Ooh, I found his book in a charity shop years ago. He was totally un apologetic about his thieving, his worse murder crimes etc. The only thing that seemed to make him happy was a short time in the very upper class gay scene in London. He saw himself as gay but was happy to sleep with a wealthy woman to get access to steal her money & jewellery .
Thatâs prostitution really. Sex for money kind of. Male or female they are not sleeping with the people they would choose for themselves.

I can't even begin to tell you how many stories I've heard from my dad and his friends in LE wherein noticing the small details ultimately lead an officer or investigator to much bigger crimes and long running schemes.

Scotland does seem to have a propensity for producing serial killers: Robert Black, Peter Tobin, Bible John (though I believe that was Tobin...how many serial killers have a fetish for menstruating women?), Angus Sinclair, Peter Manuel, Ian Brady...and even Fred West lived in Glasgow, married his Glaswegian first wife and worked as an ice cream man (?!?) there. Not saying we're all nutters, just that these are the ones I remember off the top of my head and that's quite a few for a country with a relatively small population.
I think "bible john" was peter tobin too. I heard he's a decrepid wee man in a wheelchair now.

Omg Iâm from prestonpans a small seaside village in East Lothian in Scotland I worked in a family run hotel in North Berwick as a teenager and my grandmother actually worked in the Blenheim house hotel for years I remember her telling me about it . I donât think my grandmother worked there at this time as when she worked there it was owned by a husband and wife named Ailsa and Milton I think . But I do remember being told this story when I was younger,
