  • This morning my wife and I visited St Paul's church, Wood Green, Wednesbury, for some ringing with the Lichfield & Walsall Archdeaconries Society of Change Ringers. This church is a special place for us as it is where we were married on Saturday 28th August 1993, also all of our three sons were Christened here. St Paul's church is currently not in regular use for worship, its future is sadly in some doubt and the congregation has relocated to St Luke's at Mesty Croft.
Presented here is a recording of society members ringing St Paul's peal of eight bells down following our practice meeting this morning. The bells of St Pauls were cast by John Taylor and Company of Loughborough in 1887, the tenor weighs in at 16-1-22 (836 kg) and is tuned to the note of F.

I was christened here in 1953, and my parents were married here to. I remember Sunday mornings when staying at my Grandmas listening to the bells!! She lived in Myvod Road.
