Highlight - Joshua 13:32-33 New Living Translation
32 These are the allotments Moses had made while he was on the plains of Moab, across the Jordan River, east of Jericho. 33 But Moses gave no allotment of land to the tribe of Levi, for the Lord, the God of Israel, had promised that he himself would be their allotment.
Explain - The Lord had planned the division of the lands East and West of the Jordan River for the various tribes of Israel. After their victories the land was divided and allocated according to God’s plan.
Apply - God has an inheritance planned for each of us as well.
Ephesians 1:11-14 ESV In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
Colossians 3:23-24 ESV Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Acts 20:32 ESV And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
Ephesians 1:18 ESV Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
Romans 8:17 ESV And if children, then heirs-heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Psalm 37:29 ESV The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.
Respond - Lord, thank You for Your provision for me here in this life and for my life to come with You in Glory. I strive to abide in You as You abide in me, to follow You faithfully and obediently. I pray for any that do not recognize Your wonders that they may find You as Lord and Savior. Amen.
