    Just want to give the BIGGEST shoutout to you sir. I successfully installed the power liftgate today. I did ran into multiple troubles but I managed somehow. With some thinking and proper tools, it can be done. I did exactly what you did based on your instructions. My trunk closed shut completely the first attempt. Everything works including the keyfob to lock/unlock the trunk. Yesterday I did the foglights and today I installed this. Oh and just when I finished, it started to rain. I was so lucky! I am so happy and satisfied with this success. I can't thank you again. You don't know how much I appreciate people like you helping many others out. Many good things will come your way. You the man!

    @devilsadvocate2656 Před rokem

    Just a qwik question...
    You've had this aftermarket mod installed for some time now and I was wondering about manual opening of the boot.
    "Normal" RAV4s (without the door lifter) unlock the boot when the recessed unlocking button (inside the lifting handle & above the number plate) is pressed. A second press allows you to pull the door open.
    Does this work the same way, now that you have the power lifter installed? i.e. pressing the recessed unlocking button causes it to unlock & power open?

    I'm looking at putting in a powered tailgate for my 2020 RAV4. The main problem that I have is all the kits that I've looked at involve cutting into the cars cabling which will void my warrantee.
    I assume that that cut in wire is the ignition sensor to prevent opening of the tailgate while in motion. If this is the case, then connection into the cigarette lighter (either front or rear) would provide far better access and be less intrusive.
    Secondly, I note that the kit uses a fuse tap of an existing circuit. I know from other vids that there are spare positions on the fuse box. Why not simply use one of these instead of risking interference with an existing circuit?
    Lastly, all the vids I've seen haven't addressed a number of questions that I have about the tailgates operation. Notably, does the tailgate operate as it did prior to the installation? Does installing this 3rd party kit mean you can now purchase a Toyota remote with a boot release button?

    • @BulletSolano
      @BulletSolano  Před 2 lety

      Those are questions that you need to ask cartrimhome, I’m just following the instructions from them

    • @devilsadvocate2656
      @devilsadvocate2656 Před 2 lety +5

      @@BulletSolano After a bit of research (isn't the Internet wonderful?), I've discovered what that cut in wire is for.
      It isn't the ignition sensor as I'd supposed. What it does is monitor the door open line from the cars electronics.
      By default, cars without factory fitted powered liftgates are supplied with a 2-key remote not a 3-key remote. However, when using a 2-key remote, pressing the open key 3 times is the same as using the boot opening key on a 3-key remote.
      The Readers Digest version: If fitting an aftermarket powered liftgate, pressing the open button 3 times on a 2-key remote will cause the cars electronics to send an "open the boot" signal. This will be sensed by the newly fitted powered liftgate which will then... open the boot.
      -- x --
      Further, I've discovered that there's a small local fuse panel on the right side of the boot. Potentially this could be used for the 12V constant & accessory feeds... although wires would still need to be run forward to the drivers switch and door opening sensor line.

    • @DCPHONEGUY
      @DCPHONEGUY Před rokem +1

      @@devilsadvocate2656 I would be careful trying to use a secondary fuse panel, I would think these electric struts draw a decent amount of current and depending on the wire size feeding the aux fuse panel and the current rating supplying that aux panel you could be asking for trouble but that is just my opinion, I have not installed one of these yet but I plan to in the spring. Thanks for the info on the remote, I was wondering how you would control the rear liftgate with a 2 button remote (we have a 2020 LE)

    • @BulletSolano
      @BulletSolano  Před rokem +1

      I have no issues with the wiring and on the factory remote pressing 3 times the lock button you can open and close the lift gate

    • @devilsadvocate2656
      @devilsadvocate2656 Před rokem +2

      @@DCPHONEGUY Point well taken.
      Mine is a Hybrid so the main 12V battery is located under the boot floor on the right-hand side. It has a small fuse box attached with unassigned fuse positions.
      I got the idea from another CZcams channel which attached powered rear struts to this same place. (Buggered if I can find the channel now)
      I've been occupied with other personal matters and haven't managed to circle back to this yet (you know how it goes). Please keep us appraised of your progress. I'm certainly interested.

The lift gate does open and close when the buttons are pushed. But when it closes there is a minor issue. It will close all the way and the dash shows it is closed, then it backs off just a bit and the car thinks that the lift gate is open. Hola amigo
    Compré un portón trasero eléctrico en AliExpress, me dieron un enlace de montaje que demuestra cómo instalarlo, lo único sin detalles y estoy en duda:
    mi carro es un qashqai 2017 y no se donde exactamente debo conectar el cable amarillo
    Vivo en Islandia y no pude encontrar un lugar para hacer la instalación y tendré que hacerlo yo mismo
    quisiera saber si me puedes ayudar con la instalacion y cuanto tengo que pagar por tu orientacion amigo
    De momento muchas gracias

      Qué tal, no te puedo ayudar por qué no trabajo en esos autos, tienes que comunicarte con el vendedor para que te diga que cable usar o pregunta al concesionario para que te digan que cable tiene la señal de las puertas abiertas
