As a physician, I am really shocked by the increasing number of patients I can easily identify depressive symptoms. The vast majority of them never got any kind of treatment. Depression is a disease like any other and can kill, I have lost a cousin to this. We all love Doom Metal and this dark atmosphere, but if someone here feels that the burden is heavy, don't hold your cry and seek medical advice. May the Lord bless us all.

depression is just another name for lazy people that have nothing to do. if you are busy, you have no time for depression. this is my Grandmother point of view and she know what is she talking about, because she was a nurse and saw a lot of sad, horrible things, not to mention she has survived a second war destruction being 10 years old girl. your miserable patients should be tough like she is, and learn a lesson from this little old women.
Your grandmother knows nothing. Depression is a highly described disease with a lot of known neurochemical alterations. A lot of times it's not caused by any external factor but by intrinsic neurochemical alterations. Being depressive is like being anxious, you don't fucking control what you feel.
Of course there are a lot of snowflakes in this generation, but don't confuse being sad with being depressed.
I can understand how this kind of music may not be to everyone's liking, but this song is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish. The music, the lyrics, the voices, the feelings it evokes... it's absolutely perfect in every way.

It's weird how this song affects you.. you put it on when you're sad, but instead of feeling even more down, it frees you, makes you float in space. And you feel all your sorrowfulness fading away..
That´s right. You know? Doom metal and melodeath helped me a lot during a time of harsh depression. Thanks to songs like this, I could curb it while I was living in a freezing country 10-14 years ago.

I used to listen to it when i was 16 years old depressed, lost, alone. And im still in love with this. Im 25 years old now. Be kind people life is too short.
I've been reading the comments and many have mistakenly placed this masterpiece into the "break up" category... This song however is much deeper in meaning; it's a story about the progression of Depression, loss of innocence, and wanting/ inviting death to ease the overwhelming emotional pain of life's journey.
I just simply think this song is fucking damn good. The end.

Been listening to this song for 13 years, my comfort zone, can't explain how my heart feel when listening to this poetic masterpiece
I used to listen to this every night and cry. I was so traumatized after my journey to europe from Iran. I walked illegally and crossed over 7 borders to get to where I am. I listened to this particular track every night for 7 months while I was in an asylum camp.
Happy those days are over.
I listen to this now to remind myself that even the hardest, most bitter days shall pass and we should just move on.

This is such a masterpiece that a person never wants this song to finish but last long as much as it can, pain and sorrow cover the whole body until you can't breathe. While being crushed under the extraordinary voice of Lisa Johansson and the brutal of Anders Jacobsson, the guitar wound your feelings. And the person finds himself in this black atmosphere.
The way the song sums up the beauty of melancholy, sorrow, grief, solitude, tiredness makes you actually happy, It's remarkable. There is no other song like this, this is all time masterpeace.

I found this song many years ago when I was approximately 14 and I am currently 25 and I cried almost the entire song, all the feelings that I had in my adolescence came to me in these beautiful 15 minutes, I thank life for having come across this group and this song specific. I have to emphasize that I am Chilean, this song traveled a lot to my ears haha.

Keyword = different. Lisa's voice is more angelic while Heike's more like a wailing cry.. I always prefer Lisa.
This song is a lot more relatable than I first anticipated. I love the alterning between calmer and stronger parts, and the clean/scream singers combo gets my attention every time. In this case it works perfectly. The atmosphere of the song is perfectly given by every instrument used, the variety of sounds enriches the whole piece. Great job!

It's amazing how well true, beautiful art can age. Even now, 13 years later, and I doubt anything could match this masterpiece. And the only thing that comes close is anything Draconian releases haha. I desire a song like this again. I know nothing will ever be the same. But I wish for such an epic 15 minute song on the new album. A new epic to obsess over. Well, Draconian never disappoints so I am sure the new album will be a masterpiece of its own.

What else can be said about this masterpiece. This is the best song on earth and always will be. I grew up in the 70's on metal like Sabbath etc. Became a punk rocker in the early 80's, I've seen more bands play live than I can count. I've heard more bands than most people will in two lifetimes and out of them all, this song is the one that really stands out. Draconian is the absolute top of their class and that is a fact. ❤

Depression is not a disease but a condition of the mind. Due to people concentrating in the illusory negativity of their thoughts which makes them feel hopeless. Instead of concentrating in all the positivity and goodness of life which eventually will help them find meaning in their life.

I tried to take my life 6 months ago. My step mum found me and stopped me. Whilst she held me I didn’t fear death, I feared living. I felt the shame of failure and the crushing pain in my soul. I just sunk into her arms and wept begging her to let me go. The daily suffocation is unbearable.
