The Great William Schallert, acted in just about everything, every style, from teacher, to father, to nasty man in In the Heat of The Night, countless guest star appearances and movies. He did it all.
Ann wears that same outfit from the opening of this episode to her class reunion in episode 22. She looked fabulous in it.
I have from childhood, wanted to be either an actor, or writer .... I guess that is why I have always loved That Girl, and television in general !
One episode Monty Hall, the dentist. This one, Tom Kennedy as an actor. 😂
Love this series, a bit of fantasy...because a struggling actress in NYC couldn't afford her fabulous apartment and a designer wardrobe.
i love the opening it's a Masterpiece,i have a That Girl doll with Ann holding her flag 😊
@@michaelglass4701like I've said would of preferred the real thing
Ted Bessell reminds me always of a funny squirrel.😊
All of these years and i have never noticed the kite in the window @ 2:21
I have a That Girl doll with Ann holding her flag 😊
Opening dress is beautiful and suggestive. Many of her outfits are haute coutoure despite Ann being a "starving actress."
Retro fashion featured in this series would look great on today's runways😉
Poor Don… LOL
Patty Duke's dad!
William Schallart.
Quite an extensive, long career.
Did Don ever dress casual?
Right??? I don't think so.
Neither did Ann.
Yes,
for example in:
That Girl - Season 4, Episode 2 - Mission Improbable (Part 1/ 2)
At the end, where she looks like she's wearing a nightgown -- that was a manifestation of an effort by the fashion business to get us to wear different lengths of skirts
Looks like she's wearing a nightgown
There was a brief fashion trend of maxi-skirts, sort of an answer to the mini skirt.
Mary Tyler Moore wore one a couple of times on her show (which came on the air right after this show ended).
@@bluecollarlitmy now ex had one. I remember they went “out” faster than they came “in”. She may have worn hers a few times.
Yeah, this is only outfit I did not like of Ann’s .
Pete g.,
Thanks for the reply.
I enjoy these memories and conversations.
Tom Kennedy, game show host from the 1970's.
@randilevson9547 How can you tell?
Tom's older brother, Jack Narz, was also a famous TV host. Tom changed his last name to Kennedy so the two would not be confused for each other etc.
How many wives does Jerry have?
She had 2 wives - Margie and Ruth
Ruth started doing other (tv type) things and basically retired from full time acting. I’m terrible with names so right off hand I can’t refer you to what I read.
Her father is irritating.
One big grump.
I really liked her tv. Dad
Never cared for him no matter what show he acted in.
That personality style of,
"I'm very grumpy, so that means I'm STRONG!" [Shaking fist at sky]
was common in that post WW II era. The person uses grumpiness to try to establish dominance.
Currently that personality style is not as popular as it was back then (see many criticisms of "Lew Marie" in comments under these videos!), but there are still people using this style, if we focus our awareness and observe....
Are you a masochist?
Why is Ruthie's clothing so bland? She blends right into the walls...yuch!
