The Great William Schallert, acted in just about everything, every style, from teacher, to father, to nasty man in In the Heat of The Night, countless guest star appearances and movies. He did it all.

Ann wears that same outfit from the opening of this episode to her class reunion in episode 22. She looked fabulous in it.

I have from childhood, wanted to be either an actor, or writer .... I guess that is why I have always loved That Girl, and television in general !

Love this series, a bit of fantasy...because a struggling actress in NYC couldn't afford her fabulous apartment and a designer wardrobe.

Opening dress is beautiful and suggestive. Many of her outfits are haute coutoure despite Ann being a "starving actress."
Retro fashion featured in this series would look great on today's runways😉

At the end, where she looks like she's wearing a nightgown -- that was a manifestation of an effort by the fashion business to get us to wear different lengths of skirts

There was a brief fashion trend of maxi-skirts, sort of an answer to the mini skirt.
Mary Tyler Moore wore one a couple of times on her show (which came on the air right after this show ended).

Tom's older brother, Jack Narz, was also a famous TV host. Tom changed his last name to Kennedy so the two would not be confused for each other etc.

      That personality style of,
"I'm very grumpy, so that means I'm STRONG!" [Shaking fist at sky]
was common in that post WW II era. The person uses grumpiness to try to establish dominance.
Currently that personality style is not as popular as it was back then (see many criticisms of "Lew Marie" in comments under these videos!), but there are still people using this style, if we focus our awareness and observe....
