I remember going to cricket with my grandmother when I was young, then driving down to the beach and playground. When they went out of business it broke my heart. So the first thing I did when they reopened was drive down to the retirement home and grabbed her to go down and get some food. She passed away about a year ago but I remember feeling like a little kid going back there with her and how happy she was.

I’m Stratford born and raised(well actually born in Bridgeport), but moved away over 20 years ago. I still have not made it back to the Cricket since it reopened, I think it will be a necessary stop on my next visit to see my family. After working all evening I could go for a long dog with red relish and some of the Krinkle cut fries.
The only thing that changed, is the location. Same good food. They still have the pinball machine, but it doesn't work anymore. The wings come plain or spicy, I like spicy.
its cool that you can still get food from your childhood. im from trenton,nj and 50 years old. all of the places i went to when i was a kid are long long gone and there is nothing around that compares to those old places. im old enough to remember the time we went to mcdonalds and i told my mom that the fries dont taste good anymore. it was when they switched from using beef tallow. i really miss those fries.

Ours in Chicago was pizza puff and hotdog(depression dogs not that tourist dragged through the garden bullshiat), or if you're lucky a gravy bread(Italian beef bread dipped in the juice with cheese and hot peppers).
