Atop Bokor Mountain, Cambodia

Bokor is a 1,000 meter high plateau-topped mountain adjacent to the Gulf of Thailand in Cambodia's Kampot Province. Its elevation, high rainfall and strong winds create a unique ecosystem unlike any other in the region. A small hill station was built on the mountaintop in the 1920s as a refuge from the heat for French colonists; an old church remains standing as a legacy of the colonial period. The Bokor Hill Station, long abandoned, has recently been restored and is now a hotel (shown in the video.)
