Poppy actually isn't evil, before the game launched there was a debug version on steam the version is very glitchy and only partly finished but Poppy has an almost entirely different monologue at the end, in the monologue she shows sympathy for the player and guilt for making you stay, she's says something along the lines of "Horrible things have happened, and I'm the cause of it" and then "but you can help me fix it" as if she feels guilty about everything that happened and just wants to make it right

@@WR28122 I agree with that theory. She seems like she's in a hurry to leave the playtime building (understandably so) and will do anything to leave. When we appeared, she must've thought she could use us to escape while we bust our backs trying to escape from Elastigirl reincarnated as a spider.

The fact that I really did need that
I don’t think poppy’s evil cause sure at the end she doesn’t let us escape but over half the original talk was cut so it’s just the “i was in there so long but you freed me” talk there was so much more but they cut it from the game cause “too much lore” but also when she was taken imagine her realization after all her trauma (i think she’s Ludwig’s daughter and I’m pretty sure she is) but imagine trapped in there for years then once you get out just to be captured again that’s why she seemed so cold at the end not the bubbly her she was at the start and seeing all the toys there lifeless and she knows she can’t do anything to save the kids form the experiments and from them being ripped apart by something. Plus she was put in the case cause Elliot realized the darkness will sink in after she’s out for a bit

Poppy was a little girl combined into a doll, probably their first experiment that went right, also explains why she is the main character in POPPY playtime
My theory:
Experiment 1006 was a “ experiment gone wrong ” and was abandoned soon after was able to manipulate some of the toys into being evil, and was only able to make some evil, which comes along with poppy again, he probably couldn’t do anything to poppy because she was an old experiment that knows a lot that has happened and a lot about playtime co. But to over come poppy, he has to make the other experiments attack the player, and because he knows the player could eventually defeat those experiments, he will collect parts of them to make them part of him and so he could get their abilities, he already has Huggy and Mommy. He only needs to make the others evil to capture them.

Poppy actually isn’t evil. At the end when it seems she is trying to kill us with the train, she’s really saving us from going down a really long hill and the train crashing, so she actually saves our lives. Ik a lot of people thought she was evil, hope this clears things up!

I have a bit of a theory:
When we see poppy first in the game in chapter 2, Poppy appears in what looks like a storage room and seems like normal Poppy, later we see her at the hole and see Poppy being dragged down the hole by Mommy long legs. By the next time we see Poppy, Mommy Long Legs come in carrying Poppy in her hands but something seems off about Poppy. What if Mommy Long Legs did something to poppy. It looked as if Poppy was out of it, But that’s not the only thing, Poppy’s eyes did look different to me, They don’t seem as bright as they use to be. When we see Poppy next in what looks like a control room before we get on the train to “escape” poppy is right in front of us but something seems off again, it didn’t seem to be the Poppy we knew. Her eyes looked dimmer. If my theory is correct, then it would make sense that Poppy looked acted different. I hope my theory makes sense
I think the more time she spends outside of her case the more evil she gets. I think that becoming a toy has some effect on the soul of the person trapped, that’s why the other toys are evil, and she was locked in the case to keep her from going evil until they found a solution to the problem but she was let out by the player so she is now slowly becoming corrupt.

Honestly, when Poppy was snatched by MLL, I feel like Poppy set it all up. I believe this is because she was just looking down the hole when we found her there, and I find it hard to believe she didn't see a pink stretchy bubble-gum girl just camping there waiting to catch her. Also, whenever we see her again at the control systems, the first thing she says is "Did you kill her?". All serious and stuff like she expected us to kill her and that she would be dissapointed if we didn't, like this was how she was gonna deem us worthy for her plans. I believe she told MLL that she told us that she'd help us escape but in reality she was just gonna lead us to Mommy, and to just act like she captured her. But I think Poppy was just gambling her luck, it's either we kill Mommy, which was what she was originally hoping for, or we die and she just stays free, waiting for the next helper to come along. She wasn't gonna do anything too serious, but something big enough to benifit her in the end, or that wouldn't affect her at all if it didn't work. She did say, "I've had a LOT of time to think." After all. And although she might turn good in the end, I think that she's fixing to be the last toy we destroy before we go against 1006, and we'll end up fighting him, but with a true friend, Kissy Missy.

I don't think Poppy is bad. I have this feeling that while Mommy kept Poppy with her the whole time, she may have manipulated Poppy into wanting the player to stay instead of letting them leave like she originally planned on doing. I know that some of you may be thinking "Poppy may have been playing along when Mommy grabbed her"; but to me, that scream seemed like a genuine reaction to suddenly being grabbed by a hand that came from a giant (seemingly empty) hole in the floor🤷♀️ I just have a hard time believing that Poppy is evil. Sure, there's a possibility that she was leading the player on, but I doubt that was the case because of her attitude change from the beginning to the end🤔
Poppy isn't evil at first she was being consumed by the darkness so her eyes were getting darker and she sounded more like a cruel villlan she sounded like a warm hearted child at first because the longer she stays out of her case the longer she gets dark her father put her in her case for her to be always innocent look at kissy and missy's eyes they are fully black the have no urge to kill even tho mommy was the first one to contain her eyes to getting pitched black she can control her darkness somehow despite being an older experiment not a child and the prototype is poppy's dad and when he finds out she is out of her case he will be on his way to put poppy in her case so that he could gain poppy's innocence poppy tried her best to keep her innocence and she wasn't an Gillan if I as a player just got out of the factory thing will go worse.
