2009-2012 was such a magical time for the scene. Everything was so simple, creativity from everyone everywhere. Just klids being kids. so much fun, if I could go anywhere in time I'd go back there

2) when it’s crowded (and this crowd was packed) it’s hard to go hard because everyone’s jammed up against each other. I’m sure these people enjoyed the hell out of this show, I’m so jealous I wasn’t there

Excision is coming to st luis soon and I might have to make a drive to go see him live. Sadly I don’t think I’ll ever get to see bassnectar live after what happened w him.

@latincasanova1985 much respect!!! :) this was either my 9th or 10th year at shambhala & that festival just keeps getting BETTER & BETTER!!!! Quick note in response though: i actually DO play & remix a lot of other artists, i am a dj at heart although i prefer live layering & looping & remixing just cuz its more fun. I will sample/play anything by anyone if it slaughters/crushes/feels right! i play heaps of original tunes as well as tons of exclusive edits but also lots of my favorite records :)

just saw him last night and he is so unbelievably amazing live. Hardest bass BY FAR i have ever felt in my life.
This was my introduction to bassnectar and holy shit was my mind blown! Never even knew music could sound this amazing. KILLED IT.
Now this is a real festival. Fuck EDC and Ultra. Shambs is what a real festival is like. Hope Lorin comes back for the 20th anniversary

Why does Bassnectar need to be on a crap list like dj mags top 100? He sells more tickets than any electronic musician I've heard of, and packs festivals and arenas like none other. He's first and foremost a performance artist who creates his own tunes from scratch.

The year I was treatment, in November,and showed many of my housemates/patients Bassnectar. Lol
I do not even listen to him anymore, but this time was iconic. When the US adapted dubstep hard, then it hit the East Coast. I remember letting them listen to this song. I rock the sticker on my car but I have still never him live..

+andy romeo by the same set I mean the same DJ playing relatively similar sets. They won't be the same, but it's very doubtful they'll vary much. Big name DJs typically try to play a lot of their newest songs and songs they know go well with them. As a result, many songs will be repeated at different venues and festivals.

If I was an event photographer, photographing many of his sets, there's no way I could just sit and watch! I'd have to be moving!
Cool man. I think most people would want to be moving for a Bassnectar set. There's all kinds of reasons he wouldn't though. Maybe Bassnectar just lowered this guys' wage or like this guy did way too many drugs the night before haha.
To say "in a moment like this you have to go ANIMAL" just doesn't really give him much credit. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but like we don't really know the whole story. He could just be a stale dude who has no music taste, but what i'm saying is that's probably not likely. You said it's unfortunate you're not a photographer for him and I think many other photographers would think the same thing. I really don't think someone who wasn't into bassnectar would get that job.
TL:DR I don't think the photographer is not into bassnectar. He probably has his reasons for not feeling like moving.
