The primary reason for these changes is due to his commitment to his diet and taking care of his body over the past several years. Look at the change in his body the last several years as compared to when he was on Cleveland. He's much more lean and defined. Those changes necessarily affects his quickness, agility and athleticism. Additionally, he's much more into spirituality, which makes him more calm and focused. This is why in his last several years (including on the Nets), he's more efficient in every offensive category (essentially averaging 50/40/90 every year) and his defensive on-the-ball activity and overall effectiveness from a defensive standpoint is excellent!

It's been happening for many years now. It's patently obvious that him getting no calls is a planned and deliberate decision by the NBA. Meanwhile, other stars (or even players that are not) get a high volume of calls just by looking at them the wrong way!!

Luka's court vision can find anyone on the floor with him when Kyrie's not with him. You want a bunch of lobs or post-ups? Gafford and a healthy Lively are there. Want a three? Sling it to Hardaway Jr., Jones Jr., or Exum in the corner. Step back three? Luka's got you there and a big to rebound. Washington showed he can do it without Luka, so he has the ability to step up when it matters (whether or not he can do that in the playoffs is anyone's guess). Kyrie, on his own, can find ways to score the ball that seem impossible, and he's a deep 3 threat in the right spots. The Mavs are deeper than people think.
Ask the Warriors how we score when Ky and Luka are not on the court together.

Kyrie deserves absolutely NO respect, in comparison to Knick guard, Jalen Brunsons unselfish contribution consistently accepting the scoring responsibility, for 2 injured Knick, players. How quickly we forget how Kyrie as a Net 2 years ago, cost his team major games, by refusing to vaccinate for Covid. That's right, He was a no show and at times I believe, wasn't even allowed, in the venue.
