    There is no one else in the Mind-Body space, barring perhaps Howard Schubiner, who is as persuasive and inspiring as this man. Stick with him and you will eventually get there. No need to endlessly research and complicate matters.

    I’m going back to work today after being unwell with TMS for 14 months. It all started after I had Covid so I thought I had long Covid for the longest time. Most all of my symptoms are gone except for the anxiety. It is holding on for dear life. I know it’s still here because I fear it. I’m working really hard on that. I know going back to work will really help me. I need to keep my mind off of the anxiety and just live my life even if the anxiety is there. Which I have been doing the past few months. I’m really forcing myself to do more. This is by far the hardest work I’ve ever done.

      Check out Vagus Nerve content. It's an important nerve that signals the brain that it is safe. There's quite a lot of content on youtube and Deb Dana wrote a book on it that is accessible.

      @@neva.2764 yes safety is something I struggle with since coming off beta blockers anxiety is through the roof. Wish I’d never started (although they did help to reduce tachycardia after covid). They block adrenaline so when you stop it comes back in crazy amounts.

    Try this recipe.
    1/3 cup coconut oil. 2Tablespoons of olive oil. 8 cloves peeled garlic and 5-10 drops of lavender oil. Crush up the garlic put it all into a blender and rub it on your feet and chest. If you don’t wanna put it on your chest, just rub it on your feet and put socks over feet before bed. Put it on up to four times a day. Great natural remedy.

You can search for the remedy that most closely matches your symptoms. You take the 5 little pellets 3x a day. Try to take it when you mouth is clean but not right after brushing your teeth, just not right after eating. I got really fast results. I wish you a speedy recovery.

    Oh, one more thing the cough can cause a tightness in the chest which can make more coughing so warm compress on the chest is very good. You can put some Vicks or you could even put some castor oil and then a nice warm wet washcloth on top of your chest, letting it sooth, those very tight muscles.

    Dan , have a question if you can answer it. I have chronic lumbar and leg pain; been practicing your techniques. Well a few days ago I reached for something and got this sharp pain on the other side of my back. I followed your suggestion again and in a few days the pain stopped, but my original symptoms still persist although I’m following the same techniques. Am I missing anything? Why does it work for some pain and not others?

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před 8 měsíci +1

      This isn't a light switch that will turn off and keep symptoms off. Clarity and consistency over time is key. The original symptoms likely stayed because they likely have more fear attached to them. You just proved you can influence the pain. Keep at it.

    The 0.8 mile walk to the gym is the most difficult - hard to breathe anxiety - once I am on the trend mill and biycle I am fine pretty much. Walking back home in the cold is a bitch. Digestive issues that evening or the next day. But I keep going - third day at the gym this year. One thing I noticed since I recognized this as TMS and a brain issue - my headaches are not actually headaches - I can feel the frontal cortex front of forehead is active, very active and it may feel like a dull headache but it is not. So I just talk to it and put my hand over my forehead and say relax we are okay. Look at the birds brain. Its a nice day brain. We are okay. Last night while at the computer there was no activety in my forehead for the first time it was actaully relaxed. That calm lasted til I had to get up at 6:30 a.m. to go to the gym, and that dull ache started in the frontal cortex - what do the yogis call that? The third eye.? Pitututary gland?

    I believe your own cough is TMS ;). What do you need to believe, decide and commit to ? :) I worked with Steven Ozanich author of Pain Deception, and Back Pain Permanent Healing, who also studied under Dr Sarno , and he really helped me see how TMS was not just my back pain, it was also the "chronic fatigue", persistent mucous in my throat, sciatica and frozen shoulder. ALL of it is TMS. And we do need to believe, decide and commit. Blessings

    Hi Dan, I just wanted to let you know about a home remedy for that cough from phlegm. Take about a half to one teaspoon of the dried herb Thyme and put it in your mouth. Then chew it to release the natural oils, then swallow it. I can't chew it long before I have to wash it down with water. Do this 2-3× per day for a couple of days. I could feel it helping after 2 doses. My husband could tell it was working a little after the first dose, then he continued to improve. It's nasty tasting but if you've tried everything else, then what have you got to lose?

      Many people get benefit by that process. I'm less formal. I suggest that we WILL notice our symptoms, but responding without fear, panic or a lot of attention is key. Calm reassurance that the symptoms are a false alarm and not harmful is what I suggest.
      Again, somatic tracking is viewed by many as productive. But it was not part of my solution, so it's not a necessary tool. Try it.
