@@TheMucusMan I've actually thought about that a bunch. They feel like the studio that could do something really special with it. Other studios would make a solid co op shooter. But Hazelight would be perfect
the sequel with the custom masks and the crazy amount of customization you could do with the guns for a game of that time was fantastic

I get it, the 40th day was shit, but by God, you'd think they would have treated the characters better.
The sheer number of hours I put into Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel with my friends is breathtaking. I still go back and replay it sometimes, but it's not the same without trying to figure out bounding movement while eating a slice of pizza while a friend tries to make his character into a look-alike of his favorite superhero. They were good times :) ... :| ... :(

I love this game I've had it on ps3 for my 5th birthday ( your probably thinking my parents are bad nope it was my aunt she was and is bad she's in prison for gta but that's off topic) I'm 13 now and I still play it I have 2 controllers just for this game in a glass box I bought and I haven't touched the 2nd player controller for 3 years

@@madbomer72 I think it’s because it’s sequels did less well than this game sadly. EA just took that as a message and scrapped it like Dead Space 3. Maybe like Dead Space we’ll see something more of this game soonish.

I played this game with my Dad before he left for Afghanistan. I miss those days. When he left my grandparents raised me and he was blown up by an IED. He survived but it changed him, as it would anyone. I hurt so much thinking of what could of have been but I am beyond grateful he’s here today.

Ngl, BACK TO BACK mode is one of the most stupid and badass coop moves of all time.
Without this game, I'm not sure if I ever would've developed a healthy relationship with my stepdad. We would play this game together for hours, then move on to the next in the series. It was fun.

The gun customization in this game is SICK, none of the other games in this series has replicated just how insane this feature is.

You have no idea how much I miss this game/ series. it's devastating what's happened with the servers and availability, honestly one of the most memorable experiences I've had in a game, nothing else like this series, and sadly it seems like there won't be another series like it for a very long time.

What a great series, something that truly offered the perfect balance of co-op and single play without issues.
40th Day is still the best....just the perfect game with all the right action, entertainment, and humor.
My friend and I did a co-op playthrough last month by running AoT on the RPCS3 emulator, and then using Parsec to send his controller inputs to my PC. We had to use split screen, but if you played it with your brother as a kid like I did, that just adds to the nostalgia. We find that it aged like wine.
Although you can play any of two by yourself, it wasn’t made for that, it was made to be played with a friend, its mechanics are created specifically for coop, play it again but do it right this time
I used to play all three games with my dad growing up. He’d always play as Rios and I would play as Salem. Then in TDC he was Alpha and I was Bravo. Good times.

I remember playing through both Army of Two with my brother, and every time we played other co-op games, we would spam irl the other person's name from AoT.
My brother always played as Rios so i got Salem, every time we needed to be two to do something we would say either Rios or Salem continually until the other arrived.
Kinda like Resident Evil.

This was the golden days of gaming. My little brother and I played the hell out of this game old school couch co-op. Being the oldest I had the Xbox licensed controller and he had the rockcandy controller.
the weapon customization and the insane fun i had with a friend in this game was so good. so much nostalgia watching this.
I remember playing this is middle school with one of my friends. We spent a solid 15-20 just smacking the shit out of eachother and we were in tears lol

This year was massive in my life. Was going through a lot of depression. Meds and shit. But I was so into gaming. Reading up all the news every day, trying to save up for games, went to stores to always see what was new, etc. I loved it. The videos online too. Forums. Everything. And playing WaW online, getting MGS4 and sitting through the funny yet long installing. Long as GTA IV on PS3? Jist lots of memories. Trophies came out on PS3 that summer I think. Midnight Club L.A.
If you and Zanny could've played together it would've been one of the best videos ever made. I can't imagine how many funny moments there'd be. I'd want a full play through.
The nights I spent with the bros playing this, controllers turning orange from Dorito dust, accompanied only by the smell of our armpits and the lack of maidens, will never be forgotten.

It seems a lot of people played this game with someone in their family, which is really wholesome. Me and my stepmom played L4D and this as well, videogames were a consistent way for us to bond when we weren't outside tending to the farm and animals!

I remember playing Army of Two: The 40th day with my friend years ago. I had never played the first, but he had gotten it and we decided to try the co-op.
Man, what a fun time. The gun customisation, the story choices, the team tactics... so good. Building a Frankenstein gun with a soda can suppressor that uses parts from six other guns was just too much fun.
Oh yeah, Army of two was one of those revolutionary co-op games from back in the day. It was just one of those things that reaaally made you and your friend feel even closer then ever.
Or you and your sibling, me specifically, me and my little bro used to clean up the house then our mom would let us play on Xbox.

They perfected the co-op aspect, feign death, drag and revive, aggro and smacking each other around or goofing off lmao.
They shouldn’t have had a single player mode because this was the perfect two player series that you can’t get with a bot player.
the back to back mode in this game was by far my most favorite thing in any shooting game at the time or since.
This game was so unique and innovative. I remember playing with my Dad all the time, no other games play quite like the AoT games. I loved that there was always something for you to do. Like when helping your partner climb a ledge he isn’t locked into a climbing animation, he can shoot anyone that would be waiting up there. When you’re knocked down you can still fight back. You can feign death at low health to trick enemies and save you and your buddy. It just felt like the devs really wanted you to have a good player experience and prioritized options and fun over anything else. More than anything, it incentivized co-op and playing and having fun together in a way that no other games do. There’s so much interaction between you and your partner that it’s easily one of the best co-op games out there.
I’m still mad they never made the 40th day backwards compatible. The first game is really good, but the second one is such a great game it’s a real shame that it was never made backwards compatible.

I remember way back my brother used to play this game and I would always watch as younger brothers did, and at the chopper scene my brother looked at me and said imagine if after all that work the helicopter blew up, as soon as he said that there was an explosion, up until now I forgot the game and all the context but the memory of the most 2008 game of all time always felt like an obscure dream
I really wish this game had another installment on modern consoles. It's easily in my top two or three for coop games, along with Splinter Cell Conviction.

Army of two: 40 days, literally made my childhood absolutely beautiful. me, my brother my other brother and my dad always played this game and we would have such a blast that sometimes i go on CZcams just to rewatch my childhood.

What mad this game even better was the fact that in some cases you can deal with stuff befor hand such as the mission you parachute into the side of a mountain base as a heli takes off. If you can kill the heli you have killed a high priority target giving you bonus funds AND not having to hunt him down in later missions

This game was an absolute blast, truely a memorable game when you have another player.
Army of Two TFD was really fun, the way you acquire certain items by making certain morality choices, the combat was fun, and I remember more camos than I had ever seen in a game up to that point, plenty of weapons and attachments. Definitely an underrated game of the time

The AGGRO system is actually like, a really cool and interesting mechanic. All it'd take is a little tweaking and it would be good to go.

I remember this game being so good. Me and my bud back in the day when u could rent games at a family video got this one night just on a whim and bam. we started at like 6 played it all in one night and when we beat it I opened the curtains and boom there was daylight we had stayed up all night not even knowing and that just tells u how much this game was badass. I will never forget how good this game was what a experience.

I remember playing this with my childhood friend Manu. Those where greater times, times when i still was happy in life. I just wish i could go back to being a kid again. Life sucks and i probably will kms very soon. Manu if you should ever read this i just want you to know even tho we haven't chilled in like 10 years i still love every memory we shared together no matter if it was medal of honor rising sun, conflict vietnam, army of two, battlefield 4, the old cod titels or just chilling at the skate park listening to oldschool hip hop.

Bro you just unlocked a damn near forgotten memories I played this back when it came out I was 8 me and my little brother would coop this shit can say it was some of the most fun we had. The second one is really good too but I can't say anything about the third since I didn't play it had moved to better games by then mostly souls games.
My dad, who died roughly 5 years ago at the age of 46 from cancer, used to heavily play this game back when I was younger, me and him would always play different games together but something about this game stands out in my mind when I think about us 2 playing together… I’m not 100% sure why but everytime I hear or think about this game, it brings a smile to my face as it reminds me of the old days… fly high pops and hopefully one day I can enjoy this game once again.

Absolutely!!!!! I didn't get to play the first game but I got to play the sequel and loved it so much that I played so many times until I got bored since I've already gone through several new game+. I was mind blown by the amount of gun customization in the 2nd Army of Two game
Fun fact: Kowalski was also a main character in the 1994 "Stargate" film and the initial seasons of the "Stargate SG-1" series. Pretty sure he got possessed by a Goa'uld at some point early on and became a minor reappearing villain for a short time. I think... I can't recall offhand at the moment. At any rate, the SG teams of the "Stargate SG-1" series used H&K MP5A3's until about a quarter way through season 4, at which point they were replaced by the formidable - and more "scifi" looking - FN P90. Initially it was only the more 'frontline' SG team units that recieved the upgraded primary weapon as the MP5 can still be seen from time to time in the hands of the occasional random chucklefuck team. However eventually the swap became universal and every offworld unit was equipped with P90s. The SG teams would also be supplemented and/or reinforced by infantry units composed of Marines who would typically be seen carrying M16/M4's or H&K G36 variants.
