    I remember being confused yesterday when Joost was the only one that didn't greet the audience with "Love you, Europe" or something like that, he just finished a song and went silent. Is there a possibility he wanted to say something risky and they didn't allow him? Because since the beginning of the press conference he seemed annoyed and even angry, like something has already happened before press. Also, just like Israel supporters have a right to support whatever, he has the same right to his own opinion. • @fungo1196
      @fungo1196 Před měsícem +3

      Hurricane is controversial. It was initially called 'October Rain', it references the terrorist attack of 7th October in Israel, but it references it in a moment where the major offense is pursued by Netanyhau's government against Gaza. Besides, the way of conducting the genocide are really distressing. The whole tactic is to indicate safe zones and then attack them, while Gaza's population has nor the resources to cure themselves and eat, nor the possibility to get out the strip, nor the military the sources. A very unbalanced and disproportionate Israel's counter attack, all because Netanyahu wants to profit from the State of Emergency to not call for new elections.
      That's why Hurricane's controversial. How can you sing about the death of innocents when your country - country that you represent - is just doing the same thing you denounce?
      And let's not forget that Russia was disqualified last year because of the russo-ukrainian war. Israel doesn't. We look like a joke. We, West, lost every credibility. This contest can't be apolitical, this is one of the edges of politics. EBU had to think it better

      @RanchoDosPinos Před měsícem

      @fungo1196 First is that Paleatine isn't in the EBU like Russia and Ukraine. Second, this was an uninvited war that started long ago. Only one side wants actual genocide and that is the side that calls for "From.the river to the sea". The lyrics honestly aren't controversial and if sung by any other country, it would not be controversial. You all just want to punish Israel for existing. It's like you all ate a bunch of Nazis or something.

    The decision by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to withhold footage of Joost's alleged "threatening movement" has only fueled further speculation and confusion. Releasing this footage could have clarified the situation, potentially exonerating the artist and demonstrating that the decision to disqualify him was unrelated to this incident.
    Instead, it appears the disqualification may be tied more closely to Joost's controversial remark about Israels participation in the song contest.
    During a press conference, a Polish journalist asked the Israeli contestant, Golan, whether she thought her participation might pose a security risk to others, given Israel's ongoing military actions in Gaza, referencing the pro-Palestinian rallies in Malmo during the Eurovision Song Contest. Swedish presenter Jovan Radomir quickly intervened, informing Golan that she doesn't have to answer this question. It was at this moment that Joost Klein, interjected with a simple "Why not?", that challenged the avoidance of this delicate subject. This indicated his support for transparency and dialogue on difficult topics.
    His disqualification followed shortly after this interaction, not immediately after the alleged threatening gesture made days earlier toward a crew member. Additionally, if a formal complaint has been filed with Swedish police, the EBU should have allowed the legal process to conclude before taking action. Presuming innocence until proven guilty is a fundamental principle that should have guided their actions.

He has been critical of the ebu and Israel and he is 5th in the running order before Israel. He has all the power to make a statement. He even has a part in the song where he speaks to the audience, that text can easily be changed...So showing the video of the semi final will silence Joost. He was “physical” towards a photographer (not okay, perhaps hurt the photographer?) and I don’t understand how he can sing about how he always follow his father saying that everyone’s equal and then hating on an Israeli because of her being born in Israel?! Like sorry I was born in a country you don’t like, she can do nothing about it. He is a crybaby and media seeking person who only does what will make him earn as many votes as possible (selfish catfish)
