Witzig, dass bis vor 3 Minuten das einzige, was ich über diese Band wusste, war, dass der Dudelsack-Spieler einen 75" Fernseher hatte.
I lost my Mother back in 2018. This song reminds me of her as well. She would want me to continue sailing to distant shores and not be sad that shes gone, but remember her and the good times always. Also, I love Vikings, and I should blare this while sailing in assassins creed Vallhalla because this is the first "Viking rock/metal song" that I think i've ever heard. Thanks for the upload Saltatio Mortis, love you guys! You got me through some dark times as well, and your music continues to touch me.
So the irony of a native German speaker singing the chorus more clearly then all of the native English speaking singers combined was not lost on me.

If you liked this, you should check out Powerwolf. They are from Germany, but sing in English for the most part. I recommend starting with their albums Sacramento of Sin and Back in Bloodred. Their newest album is also very good!

Unglaublich wie diese Band sich entwickelt hat. Von Platte zu Platte und Jahr zu Jahr werden die immer besser. Auch hier wieder mal ein unglaubliches Stück abgeliefert, weiter so!!!
Egill Skallagrímsson wäre sicher stolz, dass sein Lied auch 1000 Jahre später noch gesungen wird.
Das ist die für mich beste Interpretation. Ich bin so glücklich euch in einem Stil zu sehen, der mich so an das erinnert, weshalb ich vor langer Zeit angefangen habe euch zu hören.

Dazu hinkt der Vergleich mit den Hosen. Die sind von Deutschpunk zu einer Art Pop-Punk gewechselt haben also auch nicht den einen Stil zum nachgoogeln.

learning about Vikings right now for my book series I'm working on one of my characters comes from a line of Vikings and are werewolves. I love Saltatio Mortis music i may not understand some of the lyrics, but the rhythm is so good.

yes I wondered if I maybe just missed it. I am over seven decades of time old and I have heard this both when young and so much more now in this age. I unfortunately have been to battle although not on a ship. Sounds kinda lame now but it is magnificent when my grandkids hear it. Yes I’ll admit to telling the tale although I am reluctant to relive it.
