    You are not alone in how you feel. This morning, I got up early to let the dogs out and feed them, then went back to bed. I read a bit of my novel, looked at some text books on weaving, and slow stitching, and thought - 'Whats the point of getting up'? At the beginning of this lockdown, I got on with all the jobs on the house that needed doing, was weaving, knitting, sewing etc, so happy to be able to get on with things. Like you I love being at home, and don't yearn to go out. I am a music teacher working from home, as is my husband, so we are used to being together at home. Now, it is so hard to be motivated, and often, in the afternoon, i lay on my bed, watching films, I have no interest in. This is so not me. Before the lockdown, I had made a dedicated room in my house, to teach craft sessions, as I want to move from music to teaching, knitting, crotchet, weaving, and slow-stitching/mixed media, this was beginning to happen. There is so much more I could do to help that process, but, hey ho, It is hard to motivate myself. I have just given myself a good talking to, and as of tomorrow (Monday) I am having a structure to my day, and sticking to it!!!! Sorry, for this long comment, you don't have to read it, just wanted you to know, I know exactly how you are feeling. We have to 'kick our butts' and just do it!! Take care.

      Love this! And I agree, structure to the day is definitely needed. But, at the same time, I think it's also important to give ourselves permission to have a lazy day when we need it. :)

    Thanks for such an informative and thoroughly explained method! I have always used the top warp threads to tie onto my hanger (dowel, stick, etc.), but I really like this as another option.

    So helfup! I really like the snug to the dowel look. I did do one where I hung it on the warp loops (didn't cut them and tuck them), but I find that they aren't always perfectly even, and when it's hanging it's more obvious. Thanks!

    Can't seem to tell if you have a video for finishing the last stitch and taking it off the loom, so, right before you get to the place where you start in this video?! :) Perhaps it is obvious haha but I'm nervous because it's my first piece!! Wondering if you could make a short vid for the final steps of taking it off the loom? Thanks !!

    Hi Jenell hope you're all OK. Has you know I comment on all your tutorials and vlogs. Was wondering if it's ok to make this with my own spin on it. I know you've said before Not to Copy Ither Peoples Work.
    I know you've shown all these stitch ideas in separate tutorials. So that was why I'm wondering if it's ok to do this. Many thanks.
    Keep weaving,keep smiling,keep safe and well all of you. Lots of love to you and Cody and big hugs to your pets.

    I just want to be clear you don’t knot the warps again after you tuck in the pieces? So it’s the same way you finish off the wefts.

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  Před 3 lety +1

      That's correct, yes. I just knot them at the top, tuck them, and trim off the excess.

  • @luxconcept
    @luxconcept Před 4 lety +1

    Is there a reason why you don’t just hang the piece from the top part, I don’t know what it’s called I’m sorry, but I mean the part that you tucked in at the top?

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  Před 4 lety

      There are many different ways to get your weaving onto a down, this is just one of them :) I find myself often weaving with an odd number of warp strings, so when I do I can't hang it from the loops because there's one string that isn't in a loop. If you want to see one with it hung from the loops, check out this tutorial: czcams.com/video/JWN6qNGJQbI/video.html
