Absolutely beautiful country town with most of the original buildings intact. Would love to live there myself.
    Great job girls.

Yeah it was very cool. It was clear that there were many other original buildings that didn't have them and maybe the owners didn't want to be part of this historical project.. but it was amazing to be able to walk around kike a self guided living museum of that town .. we enjoyed our visits and learning about Port Wakefield... Stuart thanks for commenting ... And you're support and so glad you enjoyed the video ..tc Bridgette

Thanks for showing people what port Wakefield really is not just the highway although since the new bypass has been put in its more like a ghost town unfortunately

I am really enjoying filming these places, and documenting what is there... unfortunately the little signs that are there explaining the history are so unreadable in some cases , they really need replacing . Port Wakefield's highways seem to have main roads that I am sure were designed to make sure people bypass it .. Port Wakefield is one the most intact townships I have come across and do intend to return to look at much more . The really unfortunate part of the town is the lack of railway buildings . Glad you enjoyed the video . Thank you so much for the comments and information . Tc Bridgette

The buildings next to the courthouse weren't holding cells they were housing for the troopers as the sign said and where they kept the police horses. On the other side of the caravan park was the wharf where the bullock drays used to deliver to the boats and the creek leads out to the ocean. Where you first started filming is the local pool but it was being dredged (flushed) via the flood gates at the end of the caravan park.

Hello John, I haven't responded to your comment because, I am not too sure how your comment relates to the video, except in regards to the locality. It's a very nice town that is like stepping back in time . Are you saying that you went fishing ... And someone local destroyed / damaged your boat trailer.. if so you need to report this ...OR are you saying that the water attacked the boat trailer by rust or corrosion? The water there is salt water .. I am not a boat person but I am sure that when using a trailer, afterwards hosing with clean water might remove the salt. .. if I have got what you meant completely, please accept my apology for not understanding...and explain what you mean ..I do hope you enjoyed the video and enjoyed fishing .. its a beautiful place to go .. and thanks for taking the time to comment.. all the best with fishing ...and hope they are biting .. tc Bridgette

It did have a brass plate say something about the proving grounds outside Port Wakefield...but I'm sure Australia sourced its equipment , guns and vehicles etc from other countries as other countries did as well.
