  • The Beretta 92 (also Beretta 96 and Beretta 98) is a series of semi-automatic pistols designed and manufactured by Beretta of Italy. The Beretta 92 was designed in 1975, and production began in 1976. Many variants in several different calibers continue to be used to the present.

Note the gun was safety checked and cleared prior to making this video. No ammo was present at anytime while filming. The rounds seen in this video are snap caps and totally inert. Always assume a gun is loaded until you have cleared it!

I was at a shooting range once. The shooter next to my shooting station had a brand new Beretta R92-FS. The magazines used in the R92-FS have the same outer dimensions of the Sig-226. The only difference was the notch cut for the bolt hold open. In an emergency you can use Sig-226 in a Beretta R-92 and visa versa. Not an exact fit. But it does work. So generally use Sig magazines for Sig's. Beretta magazines for Beretta's. Magazines used in the Sig-226 and Sig-320 are not compatible in any way.

The Beretta R92-FS is a great pistol. If you want, Wilson Combat can change the R92-FS to a R92-G. The G model just has a decocker only. No extra safety that activates at a time when you don't want the safety on. A Beretta R92-G works like Sig's with a decocker only. A decocker puts the hammer in a double action mode. No need to physically disengage the safety. Wilson Combat can do this. May take some months because everybody and their uncle wants Wilson Combat to do custom work.

@@whomagoose6897 That’s a great upgrade, l can see why they have a bit of a backlog on doing that mod. The safety is a complaint l think a lot of people and agree with. The decocker only is a much better idea, now l have something else to think about doing to my gun…

Best thing is if Wilson Combat does significant changes anything on your R92 pistol. Beretta does not void any warranties.
