So if a student is caught vaping the protocol would be take the device and call parents. After years of not enforcing any rules, and allowing kids to get addicted due to daily vape use at school, now you want to call the parents- why didn't you call years ago? Why weren't the washrooms checked continuously and parents called??? And if under 18 shouldn't police be called as it's illegal? Taking the device away and calling parents will do nothing, it's not strict enough of a consequence. Especially after the standard was set by the schools doing nothing about it at all.

How about a teacher looks at the kids and see they are not on their phones. It takes 2 eyes. Smh. My kids already know not to use it but to check it at recess. Side tracking and distracting from real problems. You just made the kids more slick at what they do. Especially teenagers. I had teachers fall asleep in class, kids actually smoking in the bathroom, drugs, you name it.

Who will enforce this rule? Parents give phones to students to keep in touch with them, which is ridiculous. Phones should be put in lockers, if not perhaps Lecce should go to schools and enforce it himself.

The question is how are we going to show proof of something that actually happened in the classroom without using a cell phone? This method of banning cell phones in schools is far from being logical.

  • @turntablesrockmyworld9315

Silly,. Who is going to enforce this? Simply a transfer of responsibility. What if the student refuses to give up the device? The solution is simple: ban devices from inside classrooms, make parents accountable, make refusal to give up device a penalty of expulsion. Enforce student bullying in the digital work mandatory criminal charges and charge parents with neglect. Parents should also take responsibility. why does your child need a smartphone. Ban smartphones until at least age 16 or something.
