    The ride on that Northwestern Train Is just like riding the CTA RED LINE from Howard Street to State & Washington it takes the same amount of time speed wise.

      8avexp: If we only had transit agencies like RTA, METRA, and NICTD perhaps the outcome would have been the line being saved and the same too for the North Shore Line. If we had today's gas prices back then these lines might still be operating. Their cars most likely would look similar and sound the same as today's South Shore Line cars. The CA&E for safety sake would have to convert to overhead wires with 1,500 volts DC CURRENT and could run on today's CSX freight line which today has only one customer the FARARA PAN CANDY COMPANY which gets served only twice a week by CSX. All the other industries that were once in Oak Park have long since vanished.
