    Man I got nothing to say but thanks for the memories here in Oakland. Even though it doesn't start until 2019, I am stunned because this is the team I grew up with as a child. They showed me what it's like to be a tough eye patched bastard with a surrounding to tight on that one eye you couldn't take off. They taught me what it was like to watch 10's, thousands of fans screaming and yelling their teams name right when they came out. They took me through good and miserable times. But most importantly they also got me into a bond with my family, friends and neighbors whoever there was and the most brutal heated arguments against 49ers, Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers fans, whatever you can name. Even if it took us a damn ugly ass 15 seasons or 14 years to get back in the postseason I actually appreciated those seasons, because it got me through happiness, misery and pain even if it meant cussing out the damn TV on Sunday afternoons, Monday nights and Thursday nights, it showed that patience is to pay off. Now I thank you guys for everything you did and keeping us together, the whole NATION together. Won't forget having Jeff George as our QB. Won't forget hiring Chucky in 1998. Won't forget acquiring Rich Gannon in 1999. Won't forget our first AFC West championship in 2000 since 1990,our last season with Chucky in 01 and Tim Brown's punt return against the Chiefs. And definitely WON'T forget our last AFC West championship and our last Super Bowl appearance. Especially the misery of 2003-2015 and having the worst at draft picking before that 2014 draft. Thanks guys for all you done for the City of Oakland, it will not be the same without you, but good luck. It hurts like losing a family member, or a distant brother but go out there and JUST WIN BABY!
    Sincerely-Oakland Man

    So you put together what you consider to be the *Top 10 Moments In Raider History* , only you left out some classic moments that no *Raider* fan should ever forget! 1976 Play-off vs New England. Avenging their only loss on the year, the *Raiders* comeback from being down 10-21 to win 24-21, with both TD's in the 4th quarter! How you could forget this one is beyond me? Another great moment... 1979, at New Orleans on MNF.
    Snake gets picked midway through the 3rd period and gets thrown down on his head... on the artificial surface that the Saints played on. Trailing now 14-35, *Plunkett* begins warming up and takes the field when the TV commercials are done. What? I knew *Plunkett* couldn't bring us back down 21 points... then suddenly, just when all hope was fading, here comes #12 jogging onto the field. He told *Plunkett* _'I'm okay_ . He then told his teammates in the huddle: _I got us into this mess, now I'm going to get us out of it!_
    He leads a long drive and *Van Eeghen* scores to make it 21-35 going into the 4th quarter. In that 4th period, *Snake* throws 3 TD's and *Oakland* comes back to win, 42-35. How could you put a kneel down in over that?

    It's sad to me knowing that The Dolphins, out of all other 31 teams voted on keeping the Raiders in Oakland, I probably wouldn't mind if it was in 2012 but now that the Raiders and the City of Oakland is finally having an impact in the NFL after a decade it's just downright disrespectful to all the faithful fans that stood by this team and watched us pick an overweight QB over a bunch of future HOF's in that draft, having a fan favorite QB but couldn't get the job done and adapted to WR, and when Oakland ALMOST made the playoffs in 2011-2012 season when they were beat out of the playoffs by Tebow. Knowing that we're the best team in the NFL and the best fans, it's just a hard pill to swallow knowing that in the Raiders won't be playing in my hometown anymore, the team I grew up watching

    What great memories of the team that turn me into a football fan, I still get goosebumps when I see these great moments of Raider history. Once a Raider fan, always a Raider. I am not going to deny that I wanted them to remain in Oakland and to remain in California. I became a Raider fan since they moved to L.A. in 1982 and I was captivated by their uniform, their inspiring phrase "Commitment to Excellence", their unique style of playing football and the revolutionary and rebellious personality of Al Davis who never took crap from the corrupt NFL. He was never afraid of the NFL and their rules, that team really personified Al Davis. Calling them Las Vegas Raiders doesn't sound commanding and intimidating like THE OAKLAND RAIDERS. I will just call them THE RAIDERS from now on to honor my brothers and sisters of the Raider nation in Oakland. Most people that I know here in L.A. were in favor of keeping the Raiders in Oakland because we felt that Raiders belong in the Golden State of California. I will try to buy T-Shirts, sweaters and other items that display "Oakland Raiders" on it. I know they will play two or more seasons in Oakland and I will make the trip to the Black Hole to honor the greats who made history at The Black Hole. That stadium should be declared a landmark because of the great history of the Oakland Raiders and the Oakland A's and their dynasty in the 1970's and late 1980"s and early 1990's. My shout and support to the heartbroken fans of the Raider nation in Oakland, I hope they win a Super Bowl before leaving Oakland.

      I just hope we win a super bowl with Carr, let's be honest Carr hasn't been as great since 2016 but he still has it and honestly I'm so tired of the hate and negative feedback he gets, hes the only quarterback since 2002 that even got us close to a playoff game Carr actually got us there just to not even beable to play and that was heart breaking, I truly believe he will get us are Raiders first super bowl victory since forever ago however I don't think it'll be as soon as id hope definitely not this season and most likely not next year either but he'll get us one once are dang team gets themselves together, no more drunk driving and no more idiotic coach firing .... Honestly think we had a real shot this year till all that happened
      Anyway though I'm a die hard Raiders fan and I'll always bleed the silver and black I just hope I get to witness a Superbowl run cuz I'm only 23 so I never really got to see my team in a super bowl yet, in 2003 I was five I know we all watched that game together but I can't remember it cuz I was so young and wasn't really die hard into football like I am now
      I just would love to see the Raiders against the Cowboys in a super bowl or even just against any team Cowboys mainly cuz it'd be a legendary match up and the other half of my family love Dallas while I love Raiders
      I honestly would CRY if the Raiders won a Superbowl and I got to witness it I mean being a fan as long as I have one could only hope to see that and I truly believe only Derek Carr is that guy that could get us there shortly, we lose him than well we gonna go another two decades before even a play off appearance

    • @EnjoyLifeNow24
      @EnjoyLifeNow24 Před 2 lety

      @@jrsampson It took me less than 2 years to witness a Raider's Super Bowl victory. I moved to L.A. in 1981 and the Raiders moved to L.A. in 1982 and became Super Bowl Champions in 1984. I respectfully disagree with you about Derek Carr taking the Raiders to a Super Bowl and win it because the Raiders only got one winning season out of him and after the injury back in 2016, he hasn't been the same and to make things worse, the Raiders let an impact player like Khalil Mack go instead of keeping him. I think the Raiders should trade Derek Carr and give Marcus Mariota a chance. Mariota is a more versatile and agile football player and I like him better than Derek Carr. Mariota doesn't wait in too long like Derek Carr looking for someone to be open for a pass. Marcus Mariota can run and is more physically fit than Derek Carr.

    • @jrsampson
      @jrsampson Před 2 lety

      @@EnjoyLifeNow24 well I can agree to an extent, yeah Carr hasn't been the same since 2016 but he still does put up 3,000 passing yards every season and this year when passing more than 300 yards he's 6-0 and that says alot, so my point is if he had better weapons to every game put up those yards instead of just six of them Derek woupd definitely have a chance getting us a super bowl victory but because of are awful O Line and loss of Ruggs it just won't happen anytime soon, I can't sit back and say it won't happen With Carr cuz I truly believe he has enough in him to be an MVP I mean he just been having bad luck after 2016, switching coaches losing your best receivers never having a defense to help you keep a lead I mean he's a good quarterback on a bad team and you need a whole team to win a super bowl
      My point being, Carr can be the guy who gets us there if we could wise up and get other positions to do there job
      But I see where your coming from about trading him or playing Mariota instead I mean I love Marcus as are QB but he don't have any super bowl victories or even much to brag about in play off appearances either so really his only advantage over Carr is the speed and I will admit that is a very good advantage to have however if you don't think Carr gets us a Superbowl then Marcus definitely couldn't either but that's my opinion

    • @EnjoyLifeNow24
      @EnjoyLifeNow24 Před 2 lety

      @@jrsampson Statistics are one thing, but if those statistics do not yield the results, we are hoping for then they are just statistics. Fans want results: A SUPER BOWL trophy. If Mariota wasn't that good, then the New Orleans Saints wouldn't be interested in him. I like a QB that have other skills besides making passes. Derek Carr has only produced one winning season and I don't know if this one will be a winning season for the Raiders. Yes, the change in coaches and key players that were released lately has affected the team this season. Let's see how this season ends to then come to a conclusion about Derek Carr's future with the Raiders. I hope they get a good coach that can change the culture of the Raiders, especially when it comes to committing penalties that have cost us games in the past.

    • @jrsampson
      @jrsampson Před 2 lety

      Yeah yeah, I love the raiders but uhh we haven't been as good as I hoped for, after 2016 I honestly thought next year with Carr healthy again we'd be one of the best teams in the whole league but that 2017 season was a disaster beyond disappointment
      And after that it just all went down hill you'd think that Carr wasn't on are team anymore he was only there in 2016 but that's not the case
      My point being is even with a great quarterback who's passing for 3,000 yards every season we still just can't get anywhere and it's heart breaking cuz we do have a very good team, but a good team can't win against GREAT teams
      That's what we need is to become GREAT and not good and honestly we just can't get on that winning streak ball we keep starting every season so GOOD then out of nowhere EVERY SEASON towards the end of the season it just collapses so we need to do alot of changes and work on how we can be a great team instead of just a good one
      I mean the Bills were a "good" team way back when and lost 4 straight super bowls
      The Raiders three super bowl wins were all basically blow outs and you know why ? Because that Raiders team was a GREAT team
      As much as I love Derek Carr he just isn't the guy to get us to be the great team that'll win Superbowls or playoff games all he'll do is possibly get us a play off appearance or get us on a 3 game win streak then lose the next five
      I guess my point is that were a good team I agree with you on that but we need to be more than that to actually start pulling off play off possibilities
      A bright future ahead of us?? I agree if we get Derek Carr more offensive weapons and if are defense steps up and if we BEAT GOOD TEAMS AND BAD TEAMS how do we beat the 13-3 Chiefs last year than lose to teams like the Bears and Washington ?? That's why I would of said we were an average team ... But because we can pull off victories against Chiefs Mahomes and the Ravens that takes a good team to do that, but a great team needs to not only beat them but beat (blow out) the teams like Bears and Washington and Giants I mean a playoff team would not of lost those games at all
      Even though we got a quarterback like Derek Carr, we still got alot of work to do before you can say are future is bright and we shouldn't be underestimated, I mean I don't see us in the playoffs for another two to three years

    My dad and I had season tickets from '68 until they moved to L.A. Teams absolutely hated playing the Raiders in the Coliseum, cuz the crowd was like a 12th player. It didn't matter what the scoreboard said. The Raiders beat the dog piss out of them on the field.
    I was there for the Heidi Bowl. I was there for the Sea of Hands catch. No single individual, male or female, put more thrill in my Sunday afternoons than the one they call "Snake."
    Oakland, L.A., Las Vegas, or Anchorage, Alaska, I will NEVER deny my Raider-osity.

    I will always have great memories at that Oakland Coliseum. As much as I wanted them to stay, I understand that the mayor of Oakland DID NOT want to raise the money for a new stadium. AND Marc Davis didn’t want to put up money for the franchise either so as a fan, it was a catch 22

    • @stevepowell6503
      @stevepowell6503 Před 2 lety +1

      Honestly, he didn't have the money. Unlike most owners, Davis isn't a billionaire. His net worth is $500 million, virtually all of which is in his ownership stake in the team. The only way he could have raised the money is by selling part of his team. Although I am from the Midwest, and have seen them move 3 times, I have always wanted them to stay in Oakland. Unless he wanted to keep being the only NFL team that had to share a crappy stadium with a baseball team, he had to move. I got to see one game at the Coliseum. The fans were amazing, the stadium was horrible.
