    Yep, Mongolian.
They use Mongolian throat singing and traditional Mongolian instruments in addition to standard guitar, bass ,and drums. The 2 string being played with a bow is a Morin Khuur, and the green 3 string is a Tovshuur.
This is one of 3 songs that they have redone with new English lyrics and guest singers.
This with Danny Case (From Ashes to New), Wolf Totem with Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), and Song of Women with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm).
They also covered Metallica's Sad But True in Mongolian.
And they are awesome live. Saw them open for Halestorm last fall.

Oh you have made my day I've seen these live at the Download festival. They are phenomenal.
    Wolf Totem, Great Chinggis Khaan.
Song of woman which also has Lzzy Hale singing with them
This is Mongol is as loud as your ears can stand it kind of brilliant
Their cover of Metallica's sad but true is bloody brilliant. My favourite track however is
SUGAAN ESSENA and if that does not blow your mind you have no music taste.
The story goes that the makers of the game Jedi Fallen Order. The Hu basically created a new language for the game it was played to the bosses of the game and that was it.
I have their album have seen them live and I love them.

I discovered The Hu by watching reactors like you, whose community kept bring up amazingly cool music, stuff so far outside "my lane" (whateverthehell 'my lane' is) that I would *never* have heard *of* them much less listened to their stuff. And now, here I am, I know about throat-singing, and Mongolian culture, and heavy metal. Huge fan of the band, esp their "HU We Are" and "HU's In The Kitchen" series.
Hu's "Wolf Totem" was the first one I heard, and I love it - go for it! Strongly recommend! But every one you mentioned, I;ll def watch with you :)

The Wolf Totem should be your next watch, then you could go any direction you want with them afterwards I'd recommend. I love the way they call the sounds of nature in their music, I heard so much of that here, horses, battle, thunder, rain. Dimash does something very like in his song for the Tokyo Jazz festival, also a very traditional type song with traditional instruments, you can literally HEAR the story.
It's called SAMALTAU - recorded in his home studio - highly recommended.

Another band that'll turn your head and is on par yet soooo different is Heilung. Listen to Kriegsgaldr, Norupa or anything else from their LIFA album, you can never go wrong. They celebrate every performance as a ritual, including antlers, bones and attire. You immediatiately feel like you're back in the Tribal Ages, like hunter-gatherers, pagan goddesses and staff. It's so incredibly intense and immersive you'll get goosebumps...!
Regarding The HU Band check out Wolf Totem, Sugaan Essena, The Great Ghengis Khan, The Gereg, Shoog Shoog Song, Song Of Women, This Is Mongol
Another great band (from Japan) is Wagakki Band, everything from them is worthwile watching/listening to.
And as you mentioned The Dead South: Banjo Odyssey and In Hell I'll Be In Good Company.
Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band: You Can't Steal My Shine and Raise a Little Hell

"This is Mongol" is their new single, and simply a masterpiece.

Another good Mongolian metal band is Hanggai.
The mongolian people have always been stepped on horse culture, equine symbolism runs deep. The horse sound they produced with the morin khuur was pretty amazing.
If you consider that Mongolia has been sandwiched between China and Russia, both very strong, ambitious cultures since about 862 AD, and yet they have managed to remain Mongolian, their culture and way of life has survived and flourished . This is a testament to their strength as a people.
And now they are bringing their musical influence in to the mainstream. Fantastic!

If that was mind blowing for him I can wait till he tries Heilung and their live show version of “Krigsgaldr”. Another youtuber called it “the most metal thing I’ve ever heard”.

That 'banjo-style guitar' is a weapon!
The spikes on the body and neck are knives, intended for defense.
The 'violin' has a club in the tuning head and a spike on the body.
    Musician-warriors, my Dude!

Sad but True is arguably better than the original by Metalica. Womans Song is also amazing.
They also have a series of videos called Hu's in the Kitchen, where they cook traditional Mongol dishes. Fun chance to see them just hanging out and having fun. There is one where they go on a camping trip to the location where this video was recorded.

You really want something from left field then you need to try Steve'n'seagulls. Finnish blue grass group that do covers of songs from the likes of Maiden, Metallica and their take on thunderstruck from AC/DC is brilliant. They have also done a duet with Tarja ex Nightwish

Nice reaction. Another group from around the world that I came across from listening to Babymetal. They're really good and I've seen a few interviews with them. rather cool guys as well. They have been busy with those covers and collaborations. But don't forget to listen to their original stuff too. I throw my hat into the ring for Wolf Totem as well. great tune.
