After seven years indentured service in Virginia, they headed out here 'cause the frontier's the only land available to poor people. Out here, they're beholden to none. Not living by another's leave.
Very powerful scene. What life is all about. Adventure wrapped in the mysterious beauty of the cosmos. Love between two people, not knowing where life will take them.
My 3 favorite tracks from the film: the Main theme, the Kiss and the Glade. I think this one pips it - absolutely beautiful (esp. at 57 seconds - it brings a tear to the eye).
Awesome music “Whooosh”, after a really hard break up in your 50’s with some one that you really love , and you realize that you must move on. 😢, this music helped me, so thank you 🙏
Fact is, most humans are egoistic, they think about their own best. When people are in fear, have hunger or other life threatening situations, they only give a shit about their closest friends and families. That is the philosophy of the normal human and this soundtrack will not change anything, unfortanley.
That's not really true, those issues are based on culture than they are human nature. Many Native American cultures lived very differently from Europeans. European culture encourages material ownership, you make your own way in life and expect very little help from others, also money and currency are more European concepts. In Native American cultures, the entire tribe is communal, food, weapons, clothing, and other tools and goods were shared among everyone, there was no such thing as hording material products for the sake of greed. Not to mention their understanding of being equal and good stewards to their environment and natural resources. The killing of an animal for food is also something a person borrows to sustain their life, but must be replenished and not taken advantage of.
The Indians before the arrival of European, were at war with each other form of skirmish and brawl for the hunting territory but with means from prehistory, with arrows and stone axes tip. Unlike Europeans who ogled their lands, the Indians did not make war for land, which belonged to them in all the world. These "wars" therefore had little impact at the population level. Nothing comparable with European weapons far more lethal. Without talking about alcohol and diseases that this brought with them and they have used as biological weapon. The settlers attacked systematically in all wars, night and day the Indian camps indiscriminately killing men, women, children and elderly. Not respecting any of the agreements they had concluded with the Indians. Before the War of Independence, the English settlers have used its methods and rivalries between Indian tribes to literally erase any Indian presence from the Atlantic Ocean to the Appalachians and after the war they did the same in the rest of what will be the future US so that in 1900, almost all Indian presence had been erased from the Atlantic to the Pacific, as if they had never lived there.
And then, after he says that... she just stares at him wistfully... before breaking into smirks and snorts... 'OH MY GOD THAT'S SUCH HIPPY BULLSHIT LOL'
"No, on the contrary. It is more deeply stirring to my blood than any imagining could possibly have been." Absolute chills

I love that scene, when he's hiding in the brush with Cora and looking at the stars. It's beautiful. One of the greatest films ever made.

I wonder what kind of instrument is used for the melody of the song
It is the pan flute. Such a peaceful sound that resonates to the soul.

Don't blame the eradication of Indian culture on just the English.
@@Simon-eu2hz hes not blaming all of it, just most. Which is on point
I love *_*
cool
Does anyone know the name of the wind instrument?
What,s different with the glade 2?
I think glade 2 was the one use in the movie. Both are great!
What’s the difference between Glade I and Glade II ?
There is an acoustic guitar and some extra instruments involved with the Glade II
P pamm
