After seeing the Old Republic trailers and now this one. I'm convinced that they need to let people in the video game industry make some Star Wars movies. This seems completely new, but still Star Wars at heart.
That funny thing is I think many of the people who worked on this also worked on star wars movies. This video is just short compared to like a 2-hour movie. Of course, the effects would be better. They're given enough time.
I actually get chills every time I watch this. The editor deserves a raise, and the sound team, and the visual artists, and basically anyone involved with this trailer xD
More like 7 to 8 if at all. The company is facing a lot of challenges. Finding sufficient amount of developers is one of those challenges. So the most optimistic outcome is that it’ll come out in 7 years. But realistically speaking it may just get canceled. It’s happened to alot of Star Wars games.
Considering this takes place during the republic era around during the prequel era I’m up for it considering I’m a huge prequel fan as I grew up watching both the original and prequel trilogy
@@JonathanGaeta I think it's a bit before the prequels. I guess it's still the same era, but we should be careful not to associate it too closely because unless I'm mistaken this High Republic era has a lot of time to explore before getting anywhere close to the prequels.

The Dune novel was one of Lucas' primary influences in creating Star Wars, and honestly I'm glad this is going to the darker and more foreboding aesthetics of Dune. It's the first time I've truly felt the Dune influence in Star Wars
EA isn't involved which is good. but quantic dream is and that isn't good at all. most of their games are mediocre and don't have any action, and the studio has some terrible workplace practices. Edit: but this game could be great!
As a Star Wars fan who wants to know more of the universe before the Skywalker Saga, this just entices me so much. The music, the visuals and this new alien race with the drums and that figure rising from that black substance (with those yells being heard as this happens) just make me want to play this game so bad. Which makes me realise I have to be extremely patient.
The drumming sequences and the city street scene looked so freaking good that I thought it was live action on my first watch but the best thing by far is the music, its SO GOOD!

This must be the 20th time I'm watching this trailer. How do you even make a theme so wicked and evil? 1:10 - like it's incredibly dissonant, offbeat, doesn't end, upwards looping of dissonant relatives broken chords while sticking to this "primal" instrumentation. Beautiful. +It must also have to do with how the evil theme antagonises the base strings' theme by being the opposite.
One of the first games with actual muscle animation was God of War 3 on PS3. That game is still visually impressive and performs better on PS3 imo than the remaster.

The best thing about this, is that it simply sets a mood. There's no focus on any specific character or even culture. It's like a montage of "stuff just going on in the High Republic".

Star Wars was always meant to be revolutionary. The first two trilogies did so much in their times to push film making forward effects-wise, sound-wise, music-wise... This, and from what Quantic Dream has stated, shows that Quantic Dream understands that idea. It's going to be new but keep true to what Star Wars is at its foundations... The theme is really something special. Can't wait for this to come out... no matter how long it takes.

Yeah this is really really good. I obsess over these little productions because they're so great. I really like the project Lightbringers advert from Halo Infinite's advertising campaign. 'From soil to the stars' is a wonderful epithet: simple and meaningful. It's so good it should be used as the slogan or mantra for some real organisation in the future, one whose ends are no less ambitious than the Mjolnir project. But back to this trailer-- I think you're right in what you say. And I love this too.
I love that "all is not well" tone that movies and games set up. It gives you this sense that you're slowly watching the catastrophic end of something... an era, an empire, etc

Not enough people are talking about the music! Those drums give me chills every time I hear them, and the chorus definitely sounds like Star Wars, but in a new form.
Quantic Dream games never fail to amaze. If it's anything like their previous games, this is going to be one hell of a SW journey! So looking forward to experiencing this visual/cinematic experience set in the SW universe!

The animation is crazy when you watch it a few times, all the minute details like the drummers back muscles rippling at 1:53 as he bangs the drum. Awesome.

Those aren’t the actual in engine graphics. These are pre rendered scenes meaning the cutscenes could possibly look like this but the actually gameplay will look nothing like this
Who ever did the sound design and score needs a raise, I literally closed my eyes and played it and enjoyed myself. Chefs kiss to the unique aircraft screech at 1:25 ,gives me tie fighter vibes.

This must be the 20th time I'm watching this trailer. How do you even make a theme so wicked and evil? 1:10 - like it's incredibly dissonant, offbeat, doesn't end, upwards looping of dissonant relatives broken chords while sticking to this "primal" instrumentation. Beautiful. +It must also have to do with how the evil theme antagonises the base strings' theme by being the opposite.
Person at 1:14 needs proper eye protection.
I just wanna mention 1:53 its really impressive that they animated the back muscles. You don't see small muscle movements get animated that much.
I was thinking the same thing. The way the flesh is moving separately from the muscles is particularly amazing!

One of the first games with actual muscle animation was God of War 3 on PS3. That game is still visually impressive and performs better on PS3 imo than the remaster.

I had literally zero idea this existed until this trailer appeared on my recommended today.
The best thing about this, is that it simply sets a mood. There's no focus on any specific character or even culture. It's like a montage of "stuff just going on in the High Republic".
Thats what Quantic Dream does best. Especially if you've played Heavy Rain, Detroit, or Beyond Two Souls.
What's the High Republic? I thought it was the Old Republic era.

Star Wars was always meant to be revolutionary. The first two trilogies did so much in their times to push film making forward effects-wise, sound-wise, music-wise... This, and from what Quantic Dream has stated, shows that Quantic Dream understands that idea. It's going to be new but keep true to what Star Wars is at its foundations... The theme is really something special. Can't wait for this to come out... no matter how long it takes.
the added inspiration of ancient cultures in this game just adds more pluses to this game

This is the vibe the Acolyte trailer is missing, the grandioseness, the elegance, the diversity.
The fact that I had to remind myself. This was a video game shows that they're putting their effort into this.
...Or it just shows how you're either not very bright or were never interested in this product in the first place.
The tone, the sense of scale, the stunning visuals, the mystique, the dark brooding undertone that all is not well... finally something that feels like what modern Star Wars should be.
Yeah this is really really good. I obsess over these little productions because they're so great. I really like the project Lightbringers advert from Halo Infinite's advertising campaign. 'From soil to the stars' is a wonderful epithet: simple and meaningful. It's so good it should be used as the slogan or mantra for some real organisation in the future, one whose ends are no less ambitious than the Mjolnir project.
But back to this trailer-- I think you're right in what you say. And I love this too.

The animation is crazy when you watch it a few times, all the minute details like the drummers back muscles rippling at 1:53 as he bangs the drum. Awesome.
