Ahh see I knew it was not running hdr during cutscenes, but as for gameplay. Its fantastic. I’m so glad you covered it so other people can see it as well!
Thanks very well done video, especially the default/standard settings next to the changed settings whcih makes it very easy to follow. Wonder if u got your lg replaced by jb, good luck with that!
That would explain why certain cutscenes looked to have black level raised, they were in sdr. HDR looks fantastic. I kept settings at default with hgig enabled. I will try these settings on my C1.
I recommend u increase the saturation to 7 Bc on the first calibration screen it makes the sun and the sky pop even more As for UI brightness Just let it where it’s supposed to be It’s not that distracting Brightness I have to agree 4 looks really balanced even on DTM On
Thank you so much for covering this game! One question, I know you said to use HGIG but do you recommend the same settings if we use DTM on/off? My TV does not have HGIG.
a question, and I hope you can answer me, to calibrate hdr of ps5, do I have to take into account the maximum brightness of the TV in a window of 2% or 10%?
There is a giant problem on Pc if you use HDR. You can not use Borderless Fullscreen and are forced to use Fullscreen. This makes tabbing out to look at combos on a second screen a nightmare. I actually have to use the auto hdr mod to get around this problem because it is such a big deal to me. Hope they fix this bug!
I use Fine tune dark area -20 on my G3, then the game looks amazing and colors are much more vibrant. FTDA is a very good feature. Playing on my PC and using Color Control, I can select filmmaker mode with Hgig. The visual quality is spectacular with the G3 color boost enable. Also, there is no latency issue at all. I play most of the time games like COD, BF or counterstrike and I cannot feel the latency difference between game mode and filmmaker mode. +6ms at 120fps is imperceptible. However, what I can see for sure, is the massive visual improvement. So, I invite everybody who play with the combo PC/G3 to use Color Control to enable Hgig with all picture modes. The best picture mode is of course the filmmaker mode for 3 main reasons: the creator intend is respected, you get the second-lowest latency after Game mode and color boost is enabled.
So i have VRR on for unsupported games in ps5 settings so this means that tekken 8 will also have black level raise and i should set fine tune dark area to -4 right?
The demo never had hdr , the game looks remarkably better with hdr , quite a difference when you play your first match in the full game , looks stunning on an oled
@@theelusivememe1772 It activated the HDR mode on the TV, but the demo didn't have HDR on and couldn't be turned on. It's the same on PS5 and Xbox, I tried it on both. I was confused at how dull it was. I'm glad the full game has good HDR cause the Demo had me worried a bit😂
That depends on the quality of your TV/Moniter. Higher end displays like OLED's don't really suffer any additional input lag from enabling HDR, and 120hz OLED displays can actually mitigate it down even further with frame rate boost modes. It's generally cheaper LED - LCD and Full Array Local Dimming screens that suffer increased input lag because the technology used for them takes extra processing time to transition the brightness changes in the backlight dimming zones. OLED doesn't suffer this because every pixel has near instanteous pixel response times and individual pixel level luminance control. Even with 144hz+ moniters, LCD panels simply aren't built on tech that is capable of reducing this specific type of latency completely.
@@lewis6720In games where fast response is required, VRR should not be used because may cause more input lag, but it is worth checking for yourself because everything may be OK. Personally, I play T8 with VRR and HDR turned off. I noticed a big difference after turning off HDR in the game.
@@rejectxz For me, on Xbox and C1, turning off HDR in the game made a noticeable difference. VRR I didn't check, because I always have VRR turned off in games that require quick reaction. I exclude from experience with Gsync And T7
This video seems to focus much more on statistics, and less on visuals. Stages like Into the Stratosphere and Yakushima make the characters look out of place, with especially terribly aggressive lighting on Into the Stratosphere. HDR is not an improvment, if the people that were responsible for it were thinking "more contrast = better" & "brighter = better". It looks plain ugly.
HDR is great? Is does not even come with implemented tone mapping so you cant use HGIG and have to use tone mapping on your TV to match the peak brightness to your TV. Cutscenes are horrible to look at, black level raise of doom. HDR in this game sucks ass, nobody cares if the fighting is in HDR its way to hectic. The cutscenes though could be great if they looked good. But I get eye cancer from looking at those videos.... Horrible.
If you like to support my work you can buy me a coffee : www.buymeacoffee.com/Amok4All . Thank You!
Thanks man, you actually tested it. I asked you in Twitter the other day. Really appreciate your channel
This game is so good. I'm not a big fighting game player, but I'm so glad I got this one.
I'm happy you analyzed it.
Ahh see I knew it was not running hdr during cutscenes, but as for gameplay. Its fantastic. I’m so glad you covered it so other people can see it as well!
Thanks for covering this game, this is a MUST BUY for everyone who has even a slight interest in fighting games.
I always wait for your advices… My LGCX and I thank you so much !
Finally the game which supports Bt 2020 and Dci p3 color spaces normally. I hope this will be the standard in other games.
Great Video as always!
Another great video.😀
🔔 is on, keep uploading this videos because I NEED THEN for my games, thank you 🙌

Can you check the larest PC patch on Starfield to see if HDR has been further improved?
I came to the same conclusion on my Oled C1. Brightness 4/10, saturation 6/10 👍🏻
thx bro
I recommend u increase the saturation to 7
Bc on the first calibration screen it makes the sun and the sky pop even more
As for UI brightness
Just let it where it’s supposed to be
It’s not that distracting
Brightness I have to agree
4 looks really balanced even on DTM On
Bro I follow this man the game play is so much better
Thank you so much for covering this game! One question, I know you said to use HGIG but do you recommend the same settings if we use DTM on/off? My TV does not have HGIG.
I'd just leave it at default settings if you don't have HGIG. The TV will just auto tone map it to where it wants regardless.

Any recommendations for an LCD display? I have a Samsung QLED

Yes.
The picture looks washed out a bit to me here, and the min nit is never really 0. On PC I would try fixing that.
My question is if you like the s95c so much better then LG G2 why do you always use the LG G2 instead of the s95c?
Hey can you check out the hdr in the final fantasy 7 rebirth demo? Thanks
As soon I am back from work
It’s a shame that the cutscenes look so washed out. But gameplay colours are fantastic!
loks better without hdr in my opinion

No , there is no HDR on any demo version of Tekken 8
Hey man do like a dragon infinite wealth hdr settings it's on gamepass too
It's on gamepass??
@GamingTech-CZcams oh I apologize I thought it was on gamepass but it isn't sorry!
Is it true that hdr adds input latency ? Because that would be a big problem.

I cant enable hdr on the ps5 tekken 8? Anyone any idea why? Im using the LG CX it should work :O
Is it normal that i cant turn on my hdr for ps5
For me, after turning off HDR in the game, input lag no longer exists.
The new Yakuza like a dragon infinite wealth game have incredible HDR! May you take a Look? Schöne Grüße aus Deutschland.
Idk these settings looks better when DTM is on
Why would you have vrr on for a game that has a locked 60fps cap?
If the game supports it and there are no issues with vrr, it should always be on. There would be no reason to turn it off.
