The rookies look surprised like they think they can talk him out of it. He already put a bullet in someone so of course he's going to be taken out.
The thing is yes he shot him but their main objective is non leathal but he's shocked because he had a kid on the way and was not expecting the fellow officer to shoot him
Non lethal is the first thing that goes out the door when a civilian gets hurt. Also when he's barricaded like that you really have no options that are safe except for lethal. But yes he was shocked because he was trying to negotiate and thought he was getting somewhere and connecting with the guy.

It was, if he is the custody officer he takes responsibility for the security of the custody suite. That includes the enforcement of procedures and the safety of prisoners.
Well, if have not seen a zipper on him, let alone two. So how should be process three people at once? With his superior on his neck to get a waiting suspect out of the back seat of a police car? I may have said no, do it your self, I have already two people I'm working on. A good boss will understand, only a bad one will reprimand.

I feel like the cops in this show freeze too much which is why I stopped watching it after the 2 season. There was one where an officer got shot and they both stood there staring at each other

He only got into a fight with someone, your not going to prison for that, a couple days maximum. And they also could have opened the cell door as well, he's not any more dangerous behind a couple bars than he is without them there.
If he got released on good behaviour then probably on probation and any violation gets you sent back

The guy had a kid on the way why does the freaking swat have to come in and kill everybody they still could have talked when Diaz stepped out the way that sniper decided to shoot Elliot he had no freakingBusiness doing that the guy had a kid on the way
He also shot someone...he used what is considered lethal force, if the hostage didn't get first aid he may have dies.
Plus he is pointing a gun at them, perfectly justifiable shooting.

It wasnt chris’ fault for what happened, it was the guy who shot the mans fault. The man wasnt ordered or told to shoot the guy. Chris was doing well in talking with the man and cooperating with him and then the guy in the background shoots, so its not chris’ fault
He wasn't ordered because that's not how it works. It's the officers choice to use force and what level is appropriate.
The guy had already shot a guy, considered lethal force, and was actively pointing a firearm at police officers.
