Resin geode coasters
I used Platinum Ultra Clear Heat Resistant resin to make these geode coasters. I also used black by Artisue and white sparkle and gold sparkle from Colour Passion.

Don’t you just hate getting stuck in your resin?! The outcome was beautiful as always. I would love to see you do another resin sculpture, maybe with 3 parts. I have made 2 pieces and am getting addicted! You are so much more talented than me I am sure yours would be great and give me all kinds of ideas.

If you are going to leave your resin to sit for any period of time then you need to prep your colours. Put whatever colour you are wanting in the cups either during waiting time or before even mixing your resin. You lose a lot of time putting one colour into its cup and then mixing it up with the resin, for each one. It helps to stop the resin setting up too fast. It just gives you a tiny bit of extra time for working with your resin. Yes I agree with you drop your waiting time to 15mins, depending on the pot life for the resin you work with.
I learn so much when you get into a sticky situation! These are truly gorgeous.
When you got stuck like that I was right with you calling out but laughing so hard, you are always so down to earth ♥
you could use your little embossing gun to blow in the center to get the gold to gently touch the black and thin out the center for the next puddle. Also use the little heat gun to thin the resin a bit too. They came out very pretty!!!

I still want you to do the black one that you did when you used all black and then poured in some solid gold and kind of swirled it around. That was so beautiful. You had done that on an Ornament or key chain trinket.

Julie do you have a heat gun? When they got sticky and uneven, you could use a heat gun instead of the torch. Makes it thin out some so they go smooth!

Interesting, they still look quite lumpy on top but I guess the last layer is just showing through the clear on top.

I love how it turned out. The black striations look awesome with the depth of the shimmer, beautiful ❤
For the black colour, I use a paste from Just Resin and it is a definite black. I know pigment and pigment have different "flow" in resin. I want to get more from JR, I love their teal and gold colour. So pretty!

How about mixing your outer colours 15m earlier? They will thicken, then mix your center.😊

I cried laughing when you got stuck with the resin because the exact same thing happened to me yesterday and everything turned out okay - I was amazed. I would have poured the gold leaf resin into the center part and made a pendant. Do you ever use that? I don't think I've ever seen you use it when you're doing the coasters. Your Coasters are stunning as usual.

These are so cool! I have noticed with many of my coasters that have glitter, it all spreads and you can’t tell where the glitter was supposed to be. Is waiting longer for the resin to thicken a bit a way to help that?

I will leave mine black this time. The black is very shiny and the gold ruins that particular look.
